It's probably been asked a thousand times but I just have to ask my way because I searched and found no results (probably the way I word my questions). Anyway, I've downloaded a few FS0004 textures and I'm trying to add to FSX. I copied and pasted the texture folder in. I added the text to the Air.cfg and numbered it in order. But, I keep getting this message shown below "FAILURE TO STARTUP THE FLIGHT MODEL". NOTE: The plane Does show in select aircraft section. Thanks for the help. Brian AKA prostock

Flaps gauge not working properly - help
Prostock replied to Prostock's topic in FSX General Discussion
Thank you Rick - That's what it was. flaps-position.1=0.0,0.000000 so I changed it to flaps-position.1=1.0,0.000000 & it works fine. I'm very familiar with editing the cfg files, I've edited probably over 100 or more. I've just never encountered the flaps dial not working so wasn't sure on where or how to fix it. Thanks for the info. Much Appreciated -
Downloaded the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Rikoooo. Fly's great. Issue is when Flaps 1 is engaged, the Flaps Dial on Main Panel stays on Off until Flaps 2 is engaged and then it moves to position 3 on the Dial. Although Dial doesn't move, flaps still engage and work as they should. Any idea's if I can open Aircraft.cfg and edit and if so, which line controls this? Thanks

CRJ - Issue resolved. I had version 2.2.4 and Alex told me to download the newest version 2.4.4. All set, Thanks for your help & suggestions.

Thanks CRJ but I'm lost when it comes to trying to update & find files. I went to the links you provided but don't know where to go from there. I don't have Navigraph FMS Manager & would not know how to use it. That seems the only thing for updates. I could not find any updates area. Yes, I'd be lost without LNM, great program.
-
Thanks CRJ - I compared my settings to yours and they are exact. I will check github page as suggested. Thinking about it, this only happens when I click the Update LNM so solution would probably be Don't click Update as I don't think the program gets' updated any longer. Thanks again

Thanks amberdog1. Ok, so I uninstalled Avast totally from my computer and I'm still getting this error. I am using the default Windows Defender program for antivirus protection. Why do you think I'm still getting this error? Thanks
-
FSX-SE - I recently installed Avast Anti Virus. After Install when I open LNM, I get this error. I have friends who have the same Anti Virus and they do not get this error. All our settings are identical. Any idea's ? Thanks

I'm interested in this as well but when I searched the library, I could only find 2002 & 2004, no FSX

Nothing wrong with a dumb question. I ask them all the time, fortunately someone answers them. And honestly, there is no dumb question so keep asking, I will learn something also like the others mention

Flight Landing Characteristics Where do the come from 738
Prostock replied to Prostock's topic in FSX General Discussion
Yes, there is complication for sure. What I'm trying to achieve is landing Vertical Speeds being somewhat consistent from the default 738 to a 738 I download. It seems I can float one 738 in and land like a feather with a Vertical Speed Landing Rate of -3fpm and basically the same landing with another 738 and the Vertical Speed Landing Rate is -200fpm. Just trying to get consistency with similar models without having to fly the same 738 all the time to achieve low VS Rates. Some other than Default 738's are better than others & textures are not available for those. I guess I'm trying to complicate things more than need be but there must be a simple way of achieving this. Thanks NOTE: Testing conditions were the same - Zero wind, same airport, stick & rudder. VA = Virtual Airline and is not multiplayer mode. -
Complicated Question but hopefully a Simple Answer - Flying VA & Recording Vertical Speed Landing in default or other 738 aircraft. Some record lower VS rates. Others are very high even though the landings of two separate aircraft were nearly identical. For instance, one 738 Vertical Speed Landing records -3 and a different 738 records -190. Big difference. Does the Aircraft get it's Landing Characteristics from the Files within the Model Folder OR from the Aircraft.cfg? If it's in the Aircraft.cfg code, then what lines do I copy over? If it's the Model Folder, can I just copy and paste that folder from a 738 aircraft that records smoother more accurate VS Rates? Trying to resolve this with a simple solution. Thanks

I downloaded installed the KLM 787-9 and it's giving me trouble. Textures in cockpit black. Won't respond to throttle. Sometimes it starts in mid air at 300 mph & other times stalling. Let me know what I'm doing wrong if you have time & patience. MR. Zippy??? Here's the link for the dl. https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/24317/fsx-klm-boeing-787-9/

Flying heavy aircrafts with a joystick
Prostock replied to Martin77_7822's topic in FSX General Discussion
I am partial to the Logitech 3-D Pro - I've owned mine for over 20 years & it's still working flawlessly. $35.00 at Best Buy or you can get a deal on line. Good luck https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gamepads/extreme-3d-pro-joystick.html -
Enko - Been there, done that many times. Look at the positive, you'll have a clean install to work with & this time around you can slowly pick & choose your add-on's you want & if there is a problem, it should show up right after your newest addition. Good luck

The B738 is easy to fly. Any further questions, refer to reply #6. Good luck

This is how I set up my B737-800 on Runway BEFORE TAKE OFF. First Screen Shot shows settings Left to Right. 1. SET AT/ARM to On Position Straight Up 2. SET Speed 3. FLIP NAV/GPS to GPS if using GPS Flight 4. CLICK VOR LOC so it's Green 5. SET Altitude Hight 6. CLICK ALT/HOLD so it's Green 7. SET VERTICAL SPEED to whatever you want, I think default is 1800 AFTER YOU TAKE OFF MANUALLY Next Screen Shot. Left To Right 1. CLICK SPEED so it's Green 2. CLICK CMD/A This en-gauges AUTO PILOT. That's pretty much it. Hope this helps
