  1. Wim, are you saying that, actually, it can't be done? Allan
  2. Mr Zippy, nothing in that link refers. Allan
  3. I've unchecked the box which says Pause On Task Switch but the sim still pauses when I open another external program. How can I stop this? Allan
  4. Hiya, Is there any way of increasing the font size for the aircraft labels when in flight? Allan
  5. All sorted. With the help of "Gadgets" of AIFP3. The answers are, update AIFP3 to version AIFP3458 or AIFP3459, and when working through the aircraft files BE MORE DILIGENT! Thread can be closed, now.
  6. My account has now been approved so will ask them for a solution. However, I'll leave this thread open so if anyone can come up with any idea I'd be grateful. Allan
  7. Cllearly, no-one has any further suggestions for this problem. I've tried to cintact FSDevelopers.com, who, it seems are the source of AIFP3 but I need to register before I can post in the forum. I've tried to register but for the last 3 days it's said that my registration is pending. Does anyone know how to get help with AIFP3? Thank you, Allan
  8. Hi. Not sure what you mean by remove the offending line. Do you mean from the flight plan? That isn't where the problem lies because AIFP3 doesn't flag it up as a faulty flight plan entry. Or do you mean from the aircraft file? That won't change things because removing the aircraft would have the same effect as using //. and the list would just move up to the next aircraft as shown in my post. Allan
  9. I asked this previously but never got a solution, so I thought I’d try it again. Here is example of my AI aircraft in one traffic file, using AIFP3. There didn’t seem to be a problem initially but a few weeks ago I noticed that although it had been compiled correctly and the aircraft installed correctly, too, there was suddenly one showing in red, as in 1011 below. Strangely, it didn’t show up in the flight plan as being unavailable. AC#1008,485,"WoA_DJC_A320-200_CFM_IBE-Iberia" AC#1009,485,"WoA_DJC_A321_CFM_IBE-Iberia" AC#1010,485,"WoA_DJC_A321_CFM_IBE-Iberia_JZM" AC#1011,485,"WoA_TFS_A340-300_Iberia" AC#8770,600,"Boeing 747-267B Iberia TF-ABA" AC#8771,605,"Boeing 747-267B Iberia TF-ABP" AC#8772,485,"FlightFX 727-200 Iberia EC-CID" So I made it unavailable: //AC#1011,485,"WoA_TFS_A340-300_Iberia", I then reopened the bgl text file and got this: AC#1008,485,"WoA_DJC_A320-200_CFM_IBE-Iberia" AC#1009,485,"WoA_DJC_A321_CFM_IBE-Iberia" AC#1010,485,"WoA_DJC_A321_CFM_IBE-Iberia_JZM" //AC#1011,485,"WoA_TFS_A340-300_Iberia" AC#8770,600,"Boeing 747-267B Iberia TF-ABA" AC#8771,605,"Boeing 747-267B Iberia TF-ABP" AC#8772,485,"FlightFX 727-200 Iberia EC-CID" So I did this: //AC#1010,485,"WoA_DJC_A321_CFM_IBE-Iberia_JZM" //AC#1011,485,"WoA_TFS_A340-300_Iberia" The result was: AC#1008,485,"WoA_DJC_A320-200_CFM_IBE-Iberia" AC#1009,485,"WoA_DJC_A321_CFM_IBE-Iberia" //AC#1010,485,"WoA_DJC_A321_CFM_IBE-Iberia_JZM" //AC#1011,485,"WoA_TFS_A340-300_Iberia" AC#8770,600,"Boeing 747-267B Iberia TF-ABA" AC#8771,605,"Boeing 747-267B Iberia TF-ABP" AC#8772,485,"FlightFX 727-200 Iberia EC-CID" And so on, no matter how many times I check out the aircraft. Now it hasn’t, I believe, anything to do with the fact these are WOA aircraft because the same thing happened with FAIB aircraft and others. Why is this happening? Any ideas? It’s an odd one. Allan
  10. BINGO! That did it, F16. Thank you. Allan
  11. What prevents backed up AI aircraft being copied back in? I backed up FS and uninstalled then reinstalled. I copied the saved Aircraft, AI Aircraft and Gauges back into the new installation. I also copied back in the traffic bgl files. The Aircraft seem to be working, but some gauges are missing but the AI Aircraft don't work. I've checked some that don't work and the aircraft are i n the AI Aircraft file list, the Air file is present, the CFG file seems good and the texture is ok. Why won't they show? In fact, a few do, but around 95% don't. Allan
  12. Problem solved. In AIFP3 Flightplans menu I selected "Adjust ETA's To Reflect A/C Cruise Speeds" Funny how nobody mentioned this before. Might have been obvious but sometimes idiots guides are needed. Take care, folks. Allan
  13. I've downloaded this flight plan: AC#1000,Q-VXF,31%,24h,IFR,02:50:00,00:00:00,360,R,0486,YPAD,07:00:00,00:00:00,330,R,0486,YMML,20:40:00,00:00:00,350,R,0673,YPAD,22:30:00,00:00:00,340,R,0673,YPDN The times in BOLD are ETA's. According to everything I've read, if this flight plan is compiled, using AIFP3, and then decompiiled, AIFP3 should have calculated the correct ETA. It doesn't. After repeated attempts. Does anyone know why? Allan
  14. Hi, all, again. I checked the article mentioned above and can't make much sense out of it. But I'm not sure it applies in this case anyway. Moving on, what I've dicovered is this: I have a list of aircraft for Malaga, Menorca, Ibiza and Alicante. I keep them separate but it's the same list for each of them. Now, when I open the flight plans for each of these airports, using AIP3, one aircraft shows up as RED in the aircraft list in AIFP3 I locate the aircraft and ensure everything about that aircraft is correct, sometimes re-installing it. Then, when I apply AIFP3 I find that, that aircraft has turned to BLACK, but another has turned to RED. So I correct that one, then that one turns to BLACK and yet another turns to RED. Now, a few things are odd, here. All the aircraft involved are textures for one aircraft, an FAIB B737-800W. So I re-installed this base aircraft from another source, along with the individual textures, but, horrors, same problem. So, I Cycle through the aircraft, correcting them one at a time, but when I've done them all it reverts back to the same first one. And the cycle starts over again. I'm not getting any problems with my other FAIB aircraft. Anyone any ideas, please? Allan
  15. Couldn't put this into the title because it would be too long winded. I'm puttig a list of aircraft here: AC#1024,470,"AAV B735 Blue Air YR-BAB" AC#1025,470,"Boeing 737-400L Blue Panorama Air Horizont 9H-GTC" AC#1026,470,"Boeing 737-400L Blue Panorama Air Horizont 9H-HUE" AC#1027,470,"DJC A320-200 CFM Brussels Airlines OO-SNA" AC#1028,470,"British Airways A320-200 G-EUUT no coat" AC#1029,470,"British Airways A320-200 G-EUUK Flying Start" AC#1030,470,"British Airways A321-200 G-EUXK" AC#1031,470,"British Airways A321-200 G-EUXL White Nose" AC#1032,460,"AI B462 G-GNTZ" AC#1033,460,"AIA B737-400 Enter Air SP-ENB" AC#1034,460,"FAIB 737-800w Enter Air '100 years' SP-ENX" AC#1035,460,"AIA Boeing 737-800w neos I-NEOS" AC#1036,460,"AIA B717 Volotea EC-LQI" AC#1037,460,"FAIB A319-100 CFM Volotea EI-FMT" AC#1038,460,"Lufthansa A320-200 D-AIQW 100 Jahre Hamburg Airport" AC#1039,460,"FAIB Boeing 737-800w TRA Transavia.com Sunweb PH-HZK" AC#1040,460,"AIA 737-800 TUIfly D-AHFI" AC#1041,460,"DJC A320-200 IAE Wizz Air HA-LPB" AC#1042,450,"FAIB Airbus A319 CFM Iberia EC-JEI Old Colours" Now, I use AIFP3 and previously, this list of aircraft has been fine. Now, for no apparent reason, one of these aircraft will be shown in red in AIFP3, showing it's not istalled correctly. So I recheck the aircraft and find it's been installed correctly, and try it again. Same result. I then remove the aircraft, let's say 1027, by:- //AC#1027,450.............. nd re-apply AIFP3, making no other changes except to add // as shown. The result is another aircraft is coloured red, say, in this cas, AC#1039. They are in no way connected. not part of the same flight plan, they're created by different developers, etc., etc. If I repeat the process I find I'm gradually working down through the list of aircraft. And just to stress, they were all working previously. This has happened over the past month or so, and with different aircraft lists. It's driving me bonkers. Allan
  16. Thank you Dogfish. That's VERY enlightening. Allan
  17. Hi everyone. Some painters provide alternative textures, 32bit, DXT3, .dds, etc. Which are the best to use and what are the advantages/pitfalls for each type? I usually stick to 32bit, but is this the best format? Allan
  18. Flatterman, probably not. Maybe I should have given a complete example. Here's one of many: AC#1006,VH-OJK,12%,24Hr,IFR,06:45:00,00:00:00,370,F,18,WSSS,14:50:00,00:00:00,360,F,17,LFPG Now this has been written using Ttools. When compiling using AIFP3 the 00:00:00 should have resulted in an arrival time. It doesn't. But I'll check out Jorgen's advice, too. Thank you both. Allan
  19. I set the times as: 06:30:00 and 00:00:00, for example. When I compile using AIFP3 I understand that it should calculate the ETA given Departure and Destination airports and cruise speed. Cruise speed is, say, 470. It's not calculating the ETA although it's saying that the FP has been compiled. Allan
  20. No problem, John. Thought I'd tell you, since I removed the Follow Me car I've had no further problems. But still grateful for your advice. Allan
  21. Thank you, John. If it happens again I'll try that. However, I discovered that I kept being told that Follow Me is running. I stopped that from working and my sim has started 2/3 times since. I have no idea why but maybe this is a solution. But thanks for the tip, if it happens again. Allan
  22. I installed omdb_381307 (Dubai Scenery). When I tried to run FSX I got as far as the sim actually started but the screen disappeared. No screen but sound in the background. Various item loaded, scenery, terrain, etc, etc, but very slowly. When the progress bar reached 100% is when the screen disappears. I removed the scenery in the exact reverse of installing but still no good. So I ran FSXRegUtility and it started ok. However, the next time I tried to start it I got the same problem, and the same solution - Run the Utility. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be, and, more importantly, the permanent solution? Many thanks. Allan
