Rupert
Years ago, when I still worked, I spent a year or so working with BMW in Dingelfing Bavaria. One of the great things about working there was the great snow skiing areas nearby. To get your mind into a cooler mood if not atmosphere, I suggest you try a flight that I was able to make several times. Regardless of what your favorite sim is, fire up your favorite low and slow aircraft, set the season and weather settings for winter or something like what my sim calls "Winter Wonderland," and try this chilly flight starting at dusk for yourself. Basics: Hard Ceiling of 3,500'. Fly Point To Point as close as possible to the course as I list it. Fly the valleys as needed to not go over 3,500'. And if possible post your thoughts and screen shots here. Take off from EDDM in Munich Fly over ETSE (Erding AB) On to ES41 (Brannenburg) Then LOIK (Kufstein Austria Then shoot an Instrument Approach to and land at your final stop Innsbruck Austria LOWI. I did this several times. Though to be honest, since I was usually running late on Sunday Night, I typically flew direct over the mountains back to EDDM. Which isn't a bad flight, but not nearly s pretty as the low level flight out. Please post responses concerning your experience on this flight. Michael 1 Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

Won't someone try the cool off flight to Austria? I flew it myself yesterday but for some reason I can't post my screen shots. Otherwise I already would have. However I believe anyone who makes the flight will enjoy it. And I hope you'll post shots as well! Michael Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow. taoftedal
Hey you kids ... load up the wagon and let’s get going. I’ve got the picnic basket and don’t forget the cooler and charcoal. Grandma ... do you want to ride shotgun or sit with the kids in the back? Put those phones down and check out this beautiful valley. Okay ... everybody out! The parks just down by the river. It’s a burger-meister day in Innsbruck! Rupert ... how do you want your burger? (Sorry Rupert ... just too beautiful to lower that ceiling and we're ready for summer here in the Upper Midwest ... but kept the bird below 3,500 ... and yes ... just as beautiful in the winter. Thanks)!

jgf
Sitting at Munich Off to ETSE Which is quite close No ES41 on my map, so head to LOIK Oops, didn't notice the ceiling, climbed to clear the mountains Right on top of LOIK before it's visible Turn to Innsbruck Getting close There it is Maybe if i stand up I can see something Ubiquitous Caravans wherever you fly On final Easy landing FWIW, plane is a Davis D-1, forty or so were made 1929-1930, about a dozen still exist, "several are still airworthy". A modified Davis with 120hp engine won the 1930 National Air Race.

I hope the runways were long enough for you! Rupert Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

However hase (rabbit in German) is much more available there than beef and is great on the grill as well! Thanks, Rupert Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
