Turning on course and climbing out on the Centennial Rocky 5 departure we get a great view of the Front Range. Off the left wing in the distance, we can just make out the top of Pikes Peak through the clouds.

Climbing up to our FL260 cruise altitude and heading for the snow-covered backcountry.

Not much time at cruise altitude on this short flight. Just after we level off we begin our descent over the ski slopes of Vail.

With the approach plate on the MFD we're cleared for the Localizer Runway 15 approach at Aspen,

As we turn and intercept the localizer the field comes in sight. We're #2 to land behind a Skywest. In the second shot, you can just make out his red and green nav lights on our nose just above the tree-covered ridge up ahead.

On the localizer and glideslope. The G3000 moving purple plane symbol on the approach plate is a handy cross-check.

The approach takes us over the winding waters of Roaring Creek before touching down and turning off the runway.

Welcome to Aspen! Time to offload our snowboards and ski gear before heading into town to check into our $ 3000-a-night slopeside ski-in room at the Little Nell Hotel. Maybe we'll see a movie star in the lobby!

Great shots Bill! There is a Cirrus Vision Jet based here at LOU. I got to do a peek inside and sit in the cabin. But alas I haven't managed to snag a ride yet. There's still hope though!

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
