jankees
I've always loved the P-51 Mustang, and in fact, the very first repaint I ever did was a Mustang. I'd just started playing around with FS9 when we moved house, and in the move I came across an old Airfix model, of the 1/24 scale Mustang. I thought that it would be cool to have that in the sim, and so I got to work. Took me a while to figure out how it was done, but this was the end result: Ridge1 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr my very first repaint, for the Shockwave (later A2A) WWII Fighters P-51D MUstang. Over time, I've painted many other Mustangs, and for many different models too, so here's a bit of an overview: For Warwick Carters P-51d for FS9: 3976 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr For the Shockwave Wings of Power P-51D, also for FS9: 12109 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr still in FS9, a few more for the WWII Fighters version: 2938 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr For FSX, we got the Warbirdsim P-51B: patty167 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and as you can see, I started weathering my paints more and more jk7504 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and warbirdsim also brought us the P-51D: 2019-12-16_23-19-3-738 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and I revisited an old friend: jk8684 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and A2A came with the Wings of Power 3 version of their P-51D, and I did a ton of paints for that too: OS-H-05 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr jk6159 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr more in the reply.. Slapping paint on flightsim models you'll find all my FSX/P3D repaints here and all my MSFS repaints here.
jankees
Both the WBS and A2A version worked fine in P3D, but MFS brought is new models, like the Reno air Races P-51A: lynn001 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr jk10179 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr and the Aeroplane Heaven P-51D: jk3059 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr hgyu by JanKees Blom, on Flickr so there you have it, a small overview of my P-51 paint activities. Mustangs are by far the most numerous among my repaint activities, I've calculated I've done about 465 differnent ones for all models combined, I must be mad... ok, a few more pics then: sweet3 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr jk9822 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr jk3342 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr Final one of the Ridge Runner, to close the loop: jk5849 by JanKees Blom, on Flickr How about you? Fond of Mustangs as well? Feel free to show your favorites! Slapping paint on flightsim models you'll find all my FSX/P3D repaints here and all my MSFS repaints here. Rupert
Wow! What an awesome collection. This could make the Guinness Book of Records for most FS repaints of a classic bird!!! Brilliant.:cool::cool::cool: I agree!! And yes JK, you truly picked a magic airplane. Having said that, the most magic GA plane I ever flew was a pressurized V-Tailed Beech Bonanza back in the '60's. If you have any shots of them in your archives I'd sure love to seem them!! Michael Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
