Yes, that was a photo version of the P-38! St Exupéry died along a reco mission in southern France in preparation of the Aug. 15th landing on the Côte d'Azur :):)

I must say I'm a bit surprised to see all these shots of what is basically a FS2004 model that is almost 15 years old, especially since everybody seems to be using FSX. There have been several much better looking P-38's on the market since then.

The St Ex aircraft I posted earlier is the P-38/F-5 package from Sky Unlimited from 2006.Here's the P-38 version:

In 2009 came the P-38J/L package from Flight Sim Developers, with a much improved external model. Funnily enough, both had sound by David Copley, and both had their external model by Gibbage. This is what the FSD P-38 looks like:

Finally, in 2016, Milviz came with the P-38L, which was still better looking, and now comes as default with P3D.

so I am a bit curious, with so many good/better looking P-38's around, why use the old model in 2019?

Hey! I downloaded the FS2004 P-38 as quoted below, and I got a dark area all along the screen's bottom. I think that was due to that I used the plane inside boxed FSX because once the P-38 folder taken out, my settings were back to normal! Any more views? That's annoying because I thought I was going to access to modernity sigh!!!

Don't feel bad, Gérard. I have had the same experience with other FS2004 downloads over the years;)
