dogdish Posted January 8, 2018 Share Posted January 8, 2018 I installed both the freeware FS9 version from Virtavia and the same modified version, AlphaSim Vought Crusader for FSX Version 2 by Henk Schuitemaker. http://www.rikoooo.com/downloads/viewdownload/65/622 The Virtavia afterburner works in FS9... ...but the modified version is NOT working in FSX I'm using DX10 Preview and have DX10 Fixer (payware) installed. How do I get the afterburner effect working? Only thing I see in the readme is this... PLEASE NOTE if you want to use other panel mods, you will loose the effects controller code that I included in the pack. The afterburner effects in my F-14, F/A-18, F-111, SR-71 all work fine. dogdish Posted January 12, 2018 Author Share Posted January 12, 2018 I did install the complete aircraft and looked in the ALPHA F-8 Crusader Panel, FSX Gauges, and Effects folder and can't find the F-8_xml anywhere. Probably why it doesn't work. Anybody have any ideas to get it to work? All I had to do all along was press the "I" key and the smoke trail, wing vortex, and afterburner (Not to mention a sonic BOOM!) all came alive! The Readme said it was just for smoke. It all works from the [smokeSystem]. So the first panel.cfg was fine.
