Cessna 182 RG missing Gauges controls.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

The 182 RG, by A.F.Scrub May 2017, has missing gauges and controls, at this point is a 172 Panel, but has the retractable gear.

I would like to know if there is the intention of completing it, if not it should be stated that this is Not a true representation of the Cessna 182RG, in the interest of not having other users that are not familiar with the acf. of being misinformed.

Thanks. TV

I just did a test flight. What gauges are you missing? I agree that it is a basic C-172 with retractable gear. A true representation of a C-182 RG would probably be payware and not freeware.

Hi.

Gear Up /Dwn Lever, Light, Cowl flaps, Prop controls / Gauges... TV

Yep, I agree! Gear lever and light may not be impossible to add to the 2D cockpit, Cowl flaps would have to be added to the model by the creator, Prop control and appropriate RPM gauge might be Mickey Moused in somehow....OK time to play with it!;)

How's this so far??? Proper gear lever and lights. Proper throttle, prop, and mixture controls, and proper RPM gauge. Might try to sneak them into the VC!

Only the original creator of a plane can add things like throttles in a vc.

A small gauge, you can perhaps add. But no more then that.

Don't expect real world planes in a game like fsx.

Ps. Make sure a downloaded plane is for fsx. Fs9 planes can have gauges that can't be displayed.

That's pretty much the case! I was only able to add the RPM gauge to the VC other than that you are right about adding the Throttle, Prop, and Mixture handles as well as the gear handle.

It's because those are all 3d modeled parts of the vc. With associated gauge code written into the modeldef file, and then compiled into the model. Not separate gauges.

(picked that up from a post by N4gix in the gauges forum.)

Hi everyone.

It is interesting that the Retractable gear was added to it, the original 172, and operational, which is also part of the .mdl file. It's possible that someone may know a way around it?

I built a couple of birds from scratch, one being a 182RG, and as I recall there was a lot of work trying to get GMax to design and activate the gear. Some people can get very creative. It would be interesting to see what the original author says?

A 182 RG would be very useful, I know there are some that you can purchase but only one Free RG is available for FSX, the 177RG, and that has the Cowl flaps mislabeled, but it can be relabeled. TV

Hi Everyone.

The Cessna182RG_fsx by A.F.Scrub May 2017, can have the VC modified, to some extent, to include most of the necessary controls / levers to at least give you most of what you need for a more complete procedure / instrumentation / experience.

I hope the original author decides to add the missing controls, at some point.

I made some mods to the aircraft.cfg to bring it closer to 175KTS, as it was it was around 200, and some changes to the panel.cfg.

Make sure you save you original files before you change them.

If you have any questions post here, if the original designer doe not want these changes posted I would like the Administrator to remove this post.

Thank you to the original designer, what is done to date is excellent work, I hope you find time to add the missing items. TV

Hi everyone.

Another variant of the VC where the MP is moved to the left, where the EGT/Fuel Flow used to be, and VOR2 is maintained in it's original location.

As an added bit of info, all the added controls, Gear Up/Dwn , Cowl Open / Closed, Power controls, are all operational, you can click them and or see them move if you assign a control button / function to it.

The gear Up/ Dwn Light is at the top where Nav/GPS switch was. TV
