Guest brecken
Hi, I've been a casual FSXer for some time now. I've never graduated past my super old desktop (that requires FSX to be in all min settings to get decent fps) and yoke, but now I'm looking to be a little more serious about it. I'm a student, so I have a very small budget. I also have very little technical understanding of how computers work, or what's required software wise. I've been looking to buy a new desktop soley for the purposes of flight sim. I've found a couple in my price range to look to be in the requirements for FSX & accel pack, but I honestly have no idea. A little help please? :) https://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Dell-Optiplex-980-Intel-Core-i5-650-3.2GHz-CPU-4GB-RAM-500GB-HDD-Windows-10-Pro-Small-Form-Factor-Computer-Refurbished/9669894/product.html?refccid=EUK2D2GMK3H3G5KKWWMRPEPQJQ&searchidx=14 https://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Dell-OptiPlex-760-D-3.0GHz-Core2Duo-4GB-RAM-250GB-HDD-Windows-10-Computer-Refurbished/11528838/product.html?refccid=EUK2D2GMK3H3G5KKWWMRPEPQJQ&searchidx=1 https://www.overstock.com/Electronics/HP-Compaq-8000-USFF-Core2Duo-3.0GHz-CPU-4GB-RAM-160GB-HDD-Windows-10-Computer-Refurbished/11853824/product.html?recset=0a9428e9-ae43-45f2-b199-98591dd7ba27&refccid=PDVQKTK6L35ZJVCGNUAVRVKLVQ&recalg=872,873,839&recidx=
mrzippy
#1 It has an Intel CPU and the biggest HDD. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
bgets
I would do a search for "gaming computers" The three you have profiled in my opinion would not give you the results you are looking for. Again, just my opinion. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Intel i7 7700K 4.5 Ghz, GTX 1080 SC 1TB 7200RPM HDD, Samsung 500Gb SSHD, 750W PSU, P3DV4, Windows 10 64 bit Home Premium.REX,GEX,UTX. Rupert
I would do a search for "gaming computers" The three you have profiled in my opinion would not give you the results you are looking for. Again, just my opinion. I disagree with bgets. Current "gaming computers" are typically pointed at Bang Bang, Tomb Raiders, Car Theft type games. FSX needs a fast CPU to get your frame speed up, not fancy video cards which "gaming computers" live and die by. IMHO everyone who wants the best success with FSX should buy a computer with the fastest Intel i3, or i5, or best i7 chip you can find. That's the secret to happiness with FSX. I agree with Mr Zippy, of those you posted, I'd go with #1. ;) Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
