asos
I installed the file listed below: "FS2004 Yakovlev Yak-18T Name: yak-18t.zip Size: 36,676,912 Date: 10-11-2005 Downloads: 10,614 FS2004 Yakovlev Yak-18T. Includes authentic dynamics, 2D panel with animated propeller, gauges, sound set, custom failure system, four different animated visual models, fully functional and animated virtual cockpit, five different textures. By Alexey Yuzefov, George Sukhykh, Alexander Aphonin, Dmitry Shvetsov, Mike Maarse." It is a Golden Award aircaft, as judged by the site people... Can they explain on what merits they gave it the award? The aircraft has a major bug: THE GEAR WON'T RETRACT. Was it given the award for the various window views only? Those views are not that important. Did any of the site people fly it before giving the award? The award made me download it and I have been trying to fix the gear problem for 2 days now, without any results. Perhaps the administrators should ask its makers to provide a fix for the gear problem. That would mean the end of torture for all the people who have downloaded it. Founder Nels_Anderson Posted November 22, 2016 Founder Share Posted November 22, 2016 I think you first need to realize you are talking about a file from 2005, some 11 years ago. You need to judge it based on the standards of that time. I think you may also not understand the award it won. The "Developers Award" is really a popularity contest, based on votes received from FlightSim.Com members. You seem to think the site owners make the judgement and that is not the case. Given the more than 10,000 downloads it certainly does qualify based on popularity. As for fixes? It's an 11 year old file...anything not fixed by now is not going to be fixed. Avechelice
Hello, The aircraft has a major bug: THE GEAR WON'T RETRACT. The gear retract very well It's a hydraulic system (pressure pump) for the retraction of the gear So you must activate the hydraulic device and it's two ways .. the normal hydraulic or a emergency hydraulic They can be activated in the 3D panel (they have labels when you move the mouse cursor on !) tiger1962
It's labelled as Pneumatic System Switch (with Show Cockpit Tooltips on). Press Numpad 2 for the main 2D panel, and the Pneumatic System Switch is at the bottom right, gauge 41 in the Panel Description pdf. With this switched on, your gear and flaps will now work. Avechelice
Hello, It's labelled as Pneumatic System Switch Thank you for correct me ... it's ages I had fly this aircraft .. sometime part of memory fail ;) Regards.http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/a/bye.gif If you gave a couple of monkeys a box of ballpoints, enough paper, and enough time, they'd eventually finish up writing the complete works of Shakespeare :)

napamule2
Amazing what the collective minds (including '..part of memory fail' types -hehe) in these Sim Forums can do. Gives me a warm feeling. Now if we could get Nels to make, upload and post a link to a 'patch' with this info (where the download is listed) then we could all learn something and plus be able to fly this model. This info will get 'buried' in a couple of days. But perhaps it's not 'doable' and is 'too late'? Oh well. tiger1962
The day after I posted in this thread, I found two existing updates in the library here from 2009 - D'Oh! Search for "Yak-18t Addpack" and there will be a 2.1 and a 2.2 version. I had to disable the engine fire effect and add my own electrical section fix, but YMMV as they say.
