farrout
Sorry for the newby question, but how do I install add on scenery? I put an airport in this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\Addon Scenery\scenery but it doesn't show up. TIA Dennis
mrzippy
Was that the place the README file said to place it? What airport download did you use? If it came from the File Library here, please post the filename. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!

Now add it to the scenery library using the GUI.
JSkorna
In FSX the Addon Scenery folder is already activated in the Scenery Library. http://www.air-source.us/images/sigs/000219_195_jimskorna.png
Founder Nels_Anderson Posted September 11, 2016 Founder Share Posted September 11, 2016 We do have tutorials for this sort of thing. mrzippy
OK, this is how I would do it, you way may vary! The first thing I did was to use the auto-installer to install the download to a folder I created. After looking through the mish-mash, what you are left with is what I show in my first screenshot: I put the 2 folders inside another folder just for a better look! I would then cut/paste those 2 folder into my Addon Scenery folder and then use the Scenery Library to install them. Stand by for a new screenshot! After putting both folders into the ADDON Scenery folder, I then start the Sim and go to the Scenery Library and add the 2 items. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! farrout
I think I'm getting closer. The airports now show up in the scenery library, but I don't know how to actually select them when I select an airport. If I click on the 'Search add on scenery' button, there is nothing there. il88pp
They show instead of the defaults. Just go to the airports as you always did. Search addon scenery" is the wrong place to look. I think that's for pre-fs9 stuff. I never use it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

farrout
Strange. It appears some of the scenery is working, the runways and taxiways, but there are no buildings. Getting frustrating.
farrout
Deleted add on for KTPA, now no buildings show up in default scenery. Is there some setting I can change?

There were 2 folder that needed to be added to the Scenery Library. KTPA and the Libraries folder that had buildings. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
