Diversion to Fiji...

February 15, 2011. Good bye, Pago Pago. The weather in the Southern Pacific hasn't been good for a few days, storms, low clouds, I chose not to fly. But today was different, Clouds were scattered around 2500 feet. The winds were calm and it was mostly sunny. So off I am to the Southwest to Fiji.   I'm having a little trouble with the blogging software here on flight Sim.com. My pictures are dropping off. The software for this for is powered by V bulletin and it says you should be a getti

Soup in Pago Pago

February 10, 2011.   Another beautiful flying day, The bonanza is all gassed up. I'm ready to go. This time the plan will take me to Pago Pago international, NSTU.   Climbing to 6000 feet and heading almost due south with a course of 210, so I downloaded a flight planner that is called Plan G. I think this will fulfill all my needs for flight planner around the world. It connects and flight Sim and downloads all of the airports and navigation aids right into the planner. I believe it will

Out into the Blue Pacific

February 8, 2011.   Flew out of Hawaii over the volcano heading South, PLCH, Christmas Island. There sure is a lot of empty ocean out here. I cranked up my Marine traffic as high as it will go to see if I could see anything, but still nothing seen. I am flying real weather and so far so good. Just lots of really blue ocean. I set my NDB for 333 and kept a course of about 180-177. Sure enough, there's Christmas Island ahead. I will land on runway 26. I'll send pictures now. I really nee

To San Diego and beyond

February 2, 2011   Today I had a nice flight over to KSEE near San Diego. Most of it around 11,000 feet over the mountains FSX scenery is really pretty. Still using sky vector for my navigation. I really need to think of a way to do it better once I leave the country. The V35 does pretty well on fuel and speed. I ground speed averaged 160 knt.   Tomorrow I leave for Hawaii. PHT0 on Hilo, I might explore the Hawaiian Islands for couple of days or just continue my journey, South.

Across the USA West

I am flying this flight real time, so sometimes I hit Escape to place all on hold for a while or I will save a flight and continue when I can. As I get better at this I will include some screenshots.   January 23, 2011. Took off and some clouds from KOWD flew at 6000 feet to Block Island, KBID.   January 24, 2011. Left Block Island en route to Hot Springs, Arkansas, KHSP. I overflew that beautiful flight down the mountain, so the whole area of this part of the country with the Mountains na

A quest to be an FSX Earthrounder

I am a GA flyer and I tend to just fly in the areas I might fly in real life and only in planes I might fly in real life if i was a IFR rated PP. I find the Bonanza V35B a lot of fun to fly. It is fast a little complex and has great speed and range. I had to virtually add a rear seat secondary fuel tank for the crossings but other than that I plan to fly Real Weather, Time, and Fuel for the trip.   I decided to do a southerly westbound route after a bit of reading. So I am off and will post
