  1. KEWR Newark MSFS is a highly detailed scenery of Newark Liberty International Airport in NJ, USA. This product is compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator. Newark Liberty International Airport (IATA: EWR, ICAO: KEWR, FAA LID: EWR), originally Newark Metropolitan Airport and later Newark International Airport, is an international airport straddling the boundary between the cities of Newark in Essex County and Elizabeth in Union County, New Jersey. Located about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) south of downtown Newark, it is a major gateway to points in Europe, South America, Asia, and Oceania. It is jointly owned by the cities and leased to its operator, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. It is the second-busiest airport in the New York airport system, behind John F. Kennedy International Airport. On August 3, 1927, Newark's mayor, Thomas Raymond ordered plans for a new airport as people and organizations began calling for a new airport in the area of Newark. Construction began on April 1, 1928. The airport opened on October 1, 1928, as the Newark Metropolitan Airport. It was the first major airport to serve the New York metropolitan area and the first airport in the United States with a paved airstrip. The nation's first air traffic control tower and airport weather station opened at Newark in 1930 (following a flight that crashed outside of Kansas City, killing five people, including a U.S. senator), and it became the first airport to allow nighttime operations after installing runway lights in 1952. The Art Deco-style Newark Metropolitan Airport Administration Building, adorned with murals by Arshile Gorky, was built in 1934 and dedicated by Amelia Earhart in 1935. It served as the terminal and a control tower until the opening of the North Terminal in 1953. Construction of the Brewster Hangar began in 1937 and continued through 1938. This hangar was the most advanced of its time. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and is now a museum and Port Authority Police headquarters. After the hijacking and crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in the September 11 attacks in 2001 while en route from Newark to San Francisco, the airport's name was changed from Newark International Airport to Newark Liberty International Airport in 2002. This name was chosen over the initial proposal, Liberty International Airport at Newark, and pays tribute to the victims of the September 11 attacks and to the Statue of Liberty. In 2016, the Port Authority approved and announced a redevelopment plan to replace Terminal A, set to fully open in 2022. The busiest domestic routes from Newark include Orlando, Los Angeles, and San Francisco while most popular international destinations are London, Tel Aviv, and Toronto. The airport served413,245 passengers in 2018. It features one passenger terminal andfour runways, the main being 08/26 which is 2,500 m × 60 m (8,202 ft ×197 ft). The Bydgoszcz Airport was established during World War I for theGerman army. It's probablyone of the bigger sceneries that I've reviewed so far with a lot ofcomplexity to it, and I'm very excited to get into things and to tellyou about this awesome piece of scenery. About The AirportMoscow UUEE is currently the busiest airport in Russia, and thefifth busiest airport in Europe with around six or seven terminals intotal. Features, Graphics And ModellingSo, jumping into the simulator, let's look at some of the visualsin this awesome piece of scenery. Obviously, I'm using the latest version of the simwith Sim Update 5 and Hotfix 2, and for the most part the graphics andtextures look really good. The dynamic lights and PBRmaterials seem accurate, and the night textures are truly amazing andvery realistic. PerformanceMoving on to performance... I've recently upgraded to 4K graphics,and I found that I could quite easily get between 30 and 40 fpsdepending on where I was on the ground. On approach I was gettinganywhere between 35 and 45 fps in 4K, and so I expect that 1080p wouldallow for frame rates up to 60 fps based on the performance we'reseeing in Sim Update 5 right now. I'mcurrently using an Intel Core i9 9900k, along with the RTX 2080Ti and32 GB of RAM. As such, it's likely we'd see better frame rates on the30 series GPUs, especially in 4K. Night LightingAs expected, this scenery looks brilliant during the night. Thedynamic lights are all there, and the textures and reflections stilllook as good as they did during the day. I was really impressed by how"alive" the airport looks, and as per the features list, the lightingdoes indeed look epic! A lot of sceneries can look a little grainy at night, and as such,can lose some of their quality, but I can safely say that was not thecase for me with Drzewiecki Design's rendition of MoscowSheremetyevo. There might be theodd building here and there that doesn't look identical to itsreal-life counterpart, or indeed some that are missing, but in myopinion, most things look pretty good in this scenery. So, in terms ofaccuracy, I didn't notice any major issues. Price And Final VerdictAt time of writing, you can pick up this amazing piece of sceneryfor $24, which is around £17.32, and which is more thanacceptable in my opinion. If you're looking for a great piece ofscenery to bring Moscow UUEE to life, then Drzewiecki Design'srendition is the way to go. One of the features that Drzewiecki Design includes with theirsceneries is the fully-modelled 3D terminal interior of the airportthey are recreating. This is a true-to-life representation with shops,facilities and gates all in their correct locations. This is thentopped off with passengers and airport workers, all posed to fit inwith the simulator environment. The center of the terminal is then met by the railway line thatconnects the airport with the center of Lublin in only 15 minutes. Atrain has been modelled and animated to run up and down the line atregular intervals, connecting your virtual passengers to the rest ofPoland. Outside the passenger terminal, there is a side road that hosts theairport fire services and fuel depot, plus a storage area and baggagecart facility built into a cutting underneath the terminalbuilding. Heading over to PZL-Swidnik, you find a far more industrial part ofthe airport with warehouses and hangars lining the airport perimeterwith six helicopter stands out front. The main facility was taken overby AgustaWestland in 2010, which in turn merged with Leonardo in 2016. Having previously flown here in 2017 with Ryanair on a trip fromLondon Stansted, I used the simulator's drone cam to retrace my stepsthroughout the airport, and have been able to spot things I rememberseeing. Overall, this is a very lifelike recreation of Lublin and veryaccurately portrays the layout of the real airport. Taxiways And RunwayThe airport at Lublin is split into two distinct halves. Thecommercial airport with 8,267 foot long asphalt runway and terminal, andthe smaller former helicopter factory with a shorter 3,937 foot longgrass runway. /images/reviews/lublin/t/drzewiecki-lublin-07.jpg /images/reviews/lublin/t/drzewiecki-lublin-08.jpgThe main parking stands host spaces for five B737-class sizeaircraft, or two can be combined to form the space for a singleB767-class size aircraft. There is also one remote stand 10 that facesaway from the terminal and can be used by an aircraft based at Lublinfor a longer period. There is then a single taxiway that leads from the stands to themiddle of the runway, requiring commercial traffic to backtaxi onarrival and departure. The runway at Lublin is also far from flat,sitting on the top of a hill that peaks on the taxiway intercept. Thiscan be seen especially during the evening when on short final. PZL-Swidnik has a small paved taxiway area that leads to the sixhelipads, five small and one large, plus a concrete utility pad thatneighbors each. The main runway and the taxiways that lead to it areall grass with markers that guide aircraft around the facility. I alsogive credit to the fantastic use of animation of the gate thatseparates the grass runway from the parking stands which opens as theaircraft taxis towards it, as well as the gate that separates theSwidnik and Lublin airports. The two airports are then linked by a single taxiway that leadsfrom the main hangar at Swidnik to the backtrack turnaround loop atthe end of runway 07. /images/reviews/lublin/t/drzewiecki-lublin-02.jpg /images/reviews/lublin/t/drzewiecki-lublin-03.jpgNight EffectsNight lighting in and around the main terminal is bright and bringsthe airport to life. The terminal and apron floodlighting makes use ofwhite LED sources while the car park and roads that lead to and fromthe airport are yellower, more halogen in style. Taxiway and runway lights are clear and vibrant, giving the pilotplenty of clarity when taxiing around an airport or making a finalapproach and landing. PZL-Swidnik remains relatively unlit with lights surrounding therunway and a few street spot lamps along the taxiway nearhangars. This facility is not designed with night operation in mindand therefore leaving this part of the airport dark increases therealism that Drzewiecki Design have included with their airport. Overall, flying into Lublin at night feels good and continues togive the same lifelike feel that the rest of this scenery has duringthe day. Seasonal TexturesDrzewiecki Design has made use of seasonal textures in Lublin,perhaps a little too much in my opinion. When the winter rolls in andsnow takes over southern Poland, the airport is transformed with acomplete blanket of snow. Parked cars, bollards, signs and buildingsare covered in a light dusting which slowly builds with MicrosoftFlight Simulator's fantastic render-based snow shader. The groundhowever, is completely covered with a thick, shiny layer of ice bothair and landside. And whilst the taxiway markings are still visible,there is very little to determine where the taxiway and grass is. Knowing how defined seasons are in the south of Poland, I wouldcertainly appreciate seeing some more work in balancing out the snowacross the entire scenery when the winter months kick in. Opinion And Closing RemarksOverall I really like this recreation of Lublin in Microsoft FlightSimulator. As an airport I have flown into, I can certainly vouch forthe realistic recreation that Drzewiecki Design has made with thisscenery with facilities and miscellaneous detailing included. While Lublin may not be the most popular airport in the world andcertainly under-utilised in real life, you can certainly enjoy a rangeof memorable routes in and out of here, such as those to Scandinaviaor Turkey. Drzewiecki Design has been for a long time one of my favoritescenery developers, and Lublin once again shows us why this is thecase. The level of detail, both airside and when looking into theterminal whilst parked at the gate, is second to none and reallypushes Microsoft Flight Simulator to the next level. This product is compatible withMicrosoft Flight Simulator. Warsaw Modlin Airport is an international airport located 40km (25 miles) north of Warsaw, Poland. The airport is intended to beused by low-cost carriers serving Warsaw. As of 2017, it is the fifthbusiest airport in the country, with 2,932,639 passengers servedannually. The facility is currently exclusively served by Ryanair andbusiness/general aviation. /images/notams/notams21/drze1018/modlin1.jpgOriginally designed for military use in the Second Polish Republicin 1937, it was not opened by Polish authorities. Instead, it was madeoperational during World War II in 1940 as an airbase by the GermanLuftwaffe in occupied Poland. Postwar, between 1945 and 2000, it wasused by Polish and Soviet air forces. In 2000, the Polish Ministry ofNational Defence declared the airfield closed. The airport's runwaywas in poor condition and lacked proper lighting and modern radionavigation aids. Now located in Poland, the Polish army acquired it. Inthe 1950s and 1960s it was expanded and assigned as backup airport. Itwas developed on a low stage for many years, in the second half of the1970s it received a control tower and further buildings. In the 1990s,when the cold war had ended, the airfield in Szymany lost itsimportance and was finally left. The contract tobuild the runway was signed in August 2011, with completion in late2012. Operations commenced on December 17, 2012, with a Category Iinstrument landing system. It's probablyone of the bigger sceneries that I've reviewed so far with a lot ofcomplexity to it, and I'm very excited to get into things and to tellyou about this awesome piece of scenery. About The AirportMoscow UUEE is currently the busiest airport in Russia, and thefifth busiest airport in Europe with around six or seven terminals intotal. This system isn't just limited to passengers however - thereis also a separate tunnel underground used for Automated BaggageTransport. The airport itself was opened on the 11th of August 1959, and in2017, the airport handled over 40 million passengers, and over 308,000aircraft movements. Features, Graphics And ModellingSo, jumping into the simulator, let's look at some of the visualsin this awesome piece of scenery. They look good, are clear and sharp, and they seem tomatch up pretty well with what you'd see in the real world, which isalways nice to see. Obviously, I'm using the latest version of the simwith Sim Update 5 and Hotfix 2, and for the most part the graphics andtextures look really good. The dynamic lights and PBRmaterials seem accurate, and the night textures are truly amazing andvery realistic. PerformanceMoving on to performance... I've recently upgraded to 4K graphics,and I found that I could quite easily get between 30 and 40 fpsdepending on where I was on the ground. On approach I was gettinganywhere between 35 and 45 fps in 4K, and so I expect that 1080p wouldallow for frame rates up to 60 fps based on the performance we'reseeing in Sim Update 5 right now. I'mcurrently using an Intel Core i9 9900k, along with the RTX 2080Ti and32 GB of RAM. As such, it's likely we'd see better frame rates on the30 series GPUs, especially in 4K. Night LightingAs expected, this scenery looks brilliant during the night. Thedynamic lights are all there, and the textures and reflections stilllook as good as they did during the day. I was really impressed by how"alive" the airport looks, and as per the features list, the lightingdoes indeed look epic! A lot of sceneries can look a little grainy at night, and as such,can lose some of their quality, but I can safely say that was not thecase for me with Drzewiecki Design's rendition of MoscowSheremetyevo. The airport seems pretty close towhat it looks like in real life, especially when checked with eitherGoogle or Bing Maps, which is always reassuring. There might be theodd building here and there that doesn't look identical to itsreal-life counterpart, or indeed some that are missing, but in myopinion, most things look pretty good in this scenery. So, in terms ofaccuracy, I didn't notice any major issues. Price And Final VerdictAt time of writing, you can pick up this amazing piece of sceneryfor $24, which is around £17.32, and which is more thanacceptable in my opinion. If you're looking for a great piece ofscenery to bring Moscow UUEE to life, then Drzewiecki Design'srendition is the way to go.
