Am I the only one being disturbed by the way the MSFS flight model reacts when landing? Since the release of MSFS 2020, I noticed this problem and it kept going update after update. The problem is about the behavior of the aircraft when touching down when landing. It always tends to turn left or right, forcing you to apply a strong rudder correction that is not realistic at all. I used to be a private pilot, I flew the Cessna 152, 172, Piper PA-28, Socata TB-9. I also flew professional airline simulators, A320 and CRJ. I never saw such behavior in real life. You can have crosswind when landing, which will cause this tendency to turn into the wind. I know this, but when this happens you feel the wind deviation before touching down and the behavior on ground is the continuation of the behavior in flight. What I see in MSFS is different: the aircraft flies normally during approach and when you have little or no crosswind, the aircraft still turns left or right as soon as the wheels touch the ground. I also know about the torque effect when you have a propeller, this is noticed on take off and it is normal, but when landing the engine is idle so the torque effect should be close to 0. In addition, when landing a jet powered aircraft, the torque effect cannot explain this behavior when landing. Did you also notice this? Do you think it is realistic or is this effect too strong? I recently saw an interview of a real airline captain, saying the flight was realistic except "the very last moment of the flight", I know what he was talking about. I would be happy to have your opinion about this.

FlyInside, the company that brought VR into the world of Flight Simulation with their FlyInside VR plugin for FSX in 2015 and realistic helicopters into Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 with their ground breaking Bell 47 add-on is proud to announce another extended-realism Helicopter for MSFS 2020: the Iconic Bell 206 Jet Ranger. Long a staple in many versions of the Microsoft Flight Simulator universe, it was conspicuously left out of current releases. We've fixed that. It's back! With 4K textures, realistic materials, over 100 real life recorded sounds, full lighting support (Night Flights!) and highly detailed model. And a spot on Flight Modeling system designed to replicate the*classic B206 flight dynamics for extended realism. It's the latest from the folks at FlyInside. After the Piston Engine powered Bell 47G2 this logical follow on has smooth Turbine Power from its Allison 250-C20B engine. All engine parameters are modeled. Even the finicky Allison startup procedure. Make a mistake and you can "Hot Start" it costing hundreds of thousands of dollars in inspection and repair costs. Thankfully, we've thoughtfully added a "RESET" button to save you some cash! All sounds were recorded in a real 206. Doors, latches, pumps, you name it... it's there. Just do a start up and you'll be hooked. Nothing quite sounds like a 206 starting up! Inside, all switches, all buttons, and circuit breakers work and do what they are supposed to! A GPS, 2 Comm and 2 NAV radios with separate indicators allow for realistic Navigation. We've even given you a clock with stopwatch for timing engine cool-downs. Full Night lighting package. Nav Lights, Strobes, Beacons, interior lights, gauge backlights all working as they should. Even the dimmers.* Flip on the Landing and/or Taxi lights and enjoy some night flights! All flight control systems are animated. Main Rotor, Tail Rotor, and Swash plate just to name a few. All access doors fully animated with real 3d scans of the components fully viewable inside. Flying characteristics are faithfully modeled, including the nasty retreating blade stall, VRS (Settling with Power) ETL (Effective Translational Lift), Translating Tendency,*and even the 2 per revolution shake when appropriate. Blade slap too! Do full touchdown autorotations, hovering autos, run on landings... If you can do it in the real 206, you can do it here. All faithfully recreated. Practice makes better. If you are new to helicopters our Helimanager gives you the ability to dial in extra stability until you gain experience. It's very rewarding to be able to push the sliders all the way down to 0 and have full on realism and maintain stable flight on your own. We also recognize everyone has a different system and external control hardware. Your joystick may not be our joystick, so we've added a slider to allow you to fine tune the sensitivity to match what you use. Come get a copy and go on a cross country. See the sights... We know you'll have a grin inducing flight. More pictures are available here Videos available here

I purchased MSFS DVD version from Amazon a while ago and installed it without any problems. I now have a new machine and have tried unsuccessfully to install on the new computer. Each time, despite installing all 10 DVDs, the installation lacks some folders that were installed originally on the old computer. Also, I am directed to redeem the activation code in the Microsoft Store app, which fails with the message that the code has already been redeemed. Has anyone had this issue, and how do I resolve it? Help and information will be much appreciated.

I bought the Zenith on the marketplace several months but I have used it little because of the difficulty in short field landings. I can come in at 20 mph over stall speed fine. When I start lowering the throttle, however, the nose heads for the sky and airspeed drops below stall and I drop like a rock. Pushing forward on the stick doesn't do any good because of the lack of airspeed over the tail. Adding throttle makes matters worse because the leading edge slats leave the stall first and kick the nose up even more. I found this explanation on the publisher's website but not what to do about it. I checked the real plane's POH, and it said no special techniques or training were required. From this I gather the problem does not exist on the real plane. I bought the plane on the marketplace so therefore it is not a sure thing that I have all the updates. I am using modern flight model so that is not the problem. There are others using the Zenith for STOL so there must be a technique for doing a short steep final. I would appreciate advice because I always wanted one IRL and that is why I bought it. It would be nice if it wasn't a hanger queen. Thanks, Jefferysitz

Dear forum members, Let me show you my guide for installing ReShade on MS Store edition of the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 through MilkyDeveloper's "ReshadeForUWP" program. (This program is free.) The guide placed on YouTube. (I fast forward my video to the mark where the installation begins for your convenience. But if you are also interested in other sections of the video, then please use timecodes in the video description.) My guide is a modification of original MilkyDeveloper's guide. The modification is better suited for the MSFS2020. I published a text version of my guide on the MSFS2020 official forum on June 22, 2021. Then I improved this guide and made the video version of it. I express my deepest gratitude to MilkyDeveloper that he posted the text and video versions of my guide on the "ReshadeForUWP" GitHub page. The "ReshadeForUWP" program has two key benefits. 1. Most of the complex actions required to install the ReShade on MS Store edition of the MSFS2020 are performed automatically by the program. (The minimal number of actions is required from a user.) 2. The program has a depth buffer enhancement, which improves the quality of the ReShade shaders work on the MSFS2020. This is a link to the "ReshadeForUWP" GitHub page. https://github.com/MilkyDeveloper/ReshadeForUWP (Additional links regarding information from the video can be found in the video description.) Unfortunately, it is impossible to give absolute guarantees that this ReShade installation method will work for everyone. Installing the ReShade on "UWP" games is always experimental. But this method has been working in my case for about six months. There have also been a number of confirmations that it works from other users of MSFS2020. So I hope it works for you too. (If there are any nuances of this method when the MSFS2020 is released with DirectX 12, then I will write about it in this topic and in a pinned comment on my video.) I would be grateful if you express your opinion on this matter.

I'm new to MSFS 2020 development (come from x plane 11) and could not find any resources on how to implement a thrust vectoring system. Trying to build an evtol with tilting rotors but cannot find how to implement such a feature. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks! trying to make something similar to the below image:

I hope someone can help me with how to steer my aircraft while on the ground for taxi. In FSX I could click on auto rudder and it would allow me to steer the aircraft with the flight yoke. In MSFS it says to use the Num + Zero button to steer left and the Num + Enter button to steer right. Using the number pad to steer while handling the throttle gets a little clumsy especially on takeoff and landing. By the way I did not see a way in the set up panels in MSFS on how to assign steering to the yoke. Any help would be greatly appreciated

On behalf of a diligent and single developer, I present to you... The HondaJet! For more info, go here to the official forum post about it, includes screenshots and more info! https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/upcoming-hondajet-for-msfs/418226 I don't know about you, but I'm plenty excited about this little beauty. A little background on this guy who developed it: He originally worked on it as a project and implemented it into Prepar3D and then found out about MSFS and decided to rebuild it from the ground up for the new sim. All told, he's spent a couple of years on this. He estimates roughly a month to go before completion. Most likely freeware, but payware-level quality! If it performs like it looks, I'll donate a nice sum to this guy!

Hello, I recently watched a pilot webinar recommending the use of MSFS 2020 to practice flying and instrument procedures when you can't get into your plane. I am most interested in learning to fly the Bonanza and hoping add-ons of the 33 and 35 would offer realistic instrumentation and flight characteristics. Are these reasonable expectations of MSFS? I am not a gamer so after talking with all my gamer kids and nephews I find none of them do flight sims I found this site that I am hoping helps me make good decisions. The first question is if my office computer can handle the 2020 MSFS. From the min specs I think I am good but not sure about the video card. It is not a gaming computer but it is fairly new: ThinkStation P330 - Tiny Part Number: 30CECTO1WW • Processor : 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700T 6 core processor (2.40GHz, up to 4.00GHz with Turbo Boost, 12MB Cache) • Operating System : Windows 10 Pro 64 • Operating System Language : Windows 10 Pro 64 English • Form Factor : Tiny Q370 • Memory : 32GB (16GB + 16GB) DDR4 2666MHz • Video Adapter : NVIDIA Quadro P620 2GB 4 x Mini DP • M.2 Storage Card : 512GB Solid State Drive, PCIe-NVME, M.2, Opal • Networking : Integrated Ethernet • WiFi Wireless LAN Adapters : Intel 8265 with vPro 802.11 (2 x 2) & Bluetooth 4.2 • Speakers : Premium Internal Speaker Tiny • Vertical Stand : Vertical Stand Tiny • Tool-less for Open Chassis : Tool-less for Open Chassis • Publications Pack : Publication-English Reading other streams here and talking to my family gamers it seems I should buy the program on Microsoft instead of steam since I'm not a gamer but would I still be able to buy add-ons for specific airplanes if I don't use steam? Since this would be my one and only game purchase the software price difference is not my primary consideration... instead I'm wondering if the deluxe and premium versions would be much larger and bog down my computer. This here is probably the ultimate stupid newb question but I really want to know if there is any truth to this or should I just get the deluxe for benefits I am not aware of or upgrades I might not know I eventually will want??? I was told the Logitech G (Saitek) Flight Simulator Yoke and Rudder Pedals would be a good setup for what I was wanting to accomplish. Sporty's has these as a package and it seems like it would give me a lot of realism with a yoke, power quadrant and rudder pedals with braking. I'm sure more advanced flight simmers might have good tips for me since I am just in the shopping stage and very open to suggestions. Thanks for reading! I appreciate any tips you think will help me set up my sim.

I have a problem with Modmanfx. At first I tought it worked very easily and fine, but when I started MSFS 2020 it appears that none of the downloaded addons could be found in the simulator. Not very surprising because looking back in Modmanfx, the status of the downloaded files was all "not installed". But Install MOD failled in any way, no matter what I tried with the "Install Mod"button of the program. When I tried to look into my community folder I could’nt open it, and when I looked with the file explorer it turned out to be moved to: This PC ›Windows C› Users ›name› Downloads ›ModmanFX2038exe0kqBP› Profiles › Community. Becoming uncertain first of all I uninstalled all mods that I had imported in ModmanFX via "Uninstall Mod" (just to be sure), and then removed it with "Delete Mod" from ModmanFX. But now I realize, I did something wrong I’m afraid. What do you suggest me to do now to fix my mistake and get a working Modmanfx in my MSFS 2020 and perhaps ... why did'nt it work properly?

The application lets you connect to your Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 game and displays in real time information about altitude, attitude, heading, speed etc. It also gives you access to a detailed street map, so you can easily determine your current location and allows you to teleport to another place anywhere in the world just for a few seconds. Another useful feature is the ability to change the throttle, flaps, trim, gears or parking break directly from the app. You can find more information on our website https://www.ivy-sm.com/planeassist/ or you can check our videos on YouTube - Map & Teleport - Handles - Instruments The application is available for Windows and Android, we are working at the moment on the iOS version!

I received MSFS Standard download as a gift. I have not installed it, yet. I knew to install FSX in c:FSX. 1. Am wondering about whether there are similar suggestions for MSFS2020? 2. Also, once downloaded, how many GB are actually installed? Can you split the installation over two drives? 3. Is it possible to upgrade to Deluxe when I redeem the gift certificate? Many thanks, okbob

I am a retired Systems Integration Manager from Ford Motor Company, and a pretty strong Windows 10 user. I guess you could call me a superuser. And I have a private pilot's license (Single Engine Land). With that said, I had a custom computer specifically built to the nines about 2 weeks ago for MSFS 2020 which appears to be running perfectly, except when I tried to purchase and install MSFS 2020. The first installation of MSFS 2020 Premium Deluxe on Nov 9th went well, except I could not make content purchases from MSFS 2020 Marketplace. So after talking to MSFS 2020 support (ZenDesk), then Xbox support, and finally a Level 2 tech on the Windows Tech Team, he told me my Microsoft Store app was corrupted, and reinstalled Windows 10 for me, updated it, and crawled through my computer using Quick Assist where he had access to my desktop remotely to make sure all settings were correct for MSFS 2020. And things got worse. Now Microsoft Store tells me that the Premium Deluxe version of MSFS 2020 can't be installed on my computer, and only the Standard Version can be installed. So I tried that. Twice (uninstalling, and then reinstalling MSFS 2020 with the same results both times). My account inside MSFS 2020 tells me that I'm on the current version 1.10.11.0 but I have only 12 planes available to fly. And the plane set is a partial set of all three MSFS 2020 versions (Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe). For instance, I have the 787 Dreamliner, but not the Airbus 320, etc. And I cannot download the rest of the content from Content Manager, as it tells me I need a more recent version of the game to do so, even though my account shows I have the most recent version installed. It is now a spaghetti installation of parts of all three versions of MSFS 2020. And from what I can tell, it is because of their VERY aggressive Digital Content Management system in Microsoft Store. Microsoft is so afraid of the software being pirated, they are not giving it to their paying customers either! I am now waiting for a support call from Xbox support that will never come. I've been waiting for 4 days now, relaunching the request for a callback each morning. But apparently nobody is home at Xbox. I am getting ready to request a full refund, and plan on coming back in 2 or 3 years to try again, as right now the launch of MSFS 2020 is a disaster. If I had launched a product like this at Ford, they would have fired me. Cheers! :pilot:
