Payware Red Wing L-1049G Super Constellation is needed. This repaint shows Alaska Airlines Lockheed L-1049H Super Constellation N7777C with c/n 4803 in its paint scheme of 1966. Delivered in 1956 to Qantas as VH-EAN "Southern Tide". Cancelled from Australian Register on sale to Air New Mex Inc. as N7777C in July 1962. Leased to Alaska Airlines in 1964. Change of ownership to International Aerodyne Inc although lease to Alaska Airlines continued. In April 1967 aircraft crashed at Kotzebue-Wien Memorial Airport, AK. The approach to was completed in whiteout conditions with a very limited visibility. Following a 'normal' approach, the airplane belly landed and slid for few hundred yards before coming to rest. All 32 occupants were evacuated uninjured while the aircraft was damaged beyond repair. Probable cause: The crew failed to follow the approach check-list and forgot to lower the landing gear, causing the airplane to make a wheels-up landing. Noted 1978 at Kotzebue complete with wings and tail on a mound of earth. Still in Alaska Airlines colours but with titles "The Flying Martini Inc" being used as a bar. Finally scrapped in September 1980. Please note: Red Wing L-1049 V2.5 is needed. With gray cockpit style. Please delete all prior Alaska N7777C repaints before installing this one. Repaint of payware Red Wing L-1049G Super Constellation. This repaint shows fictious Swissair L-1049G HB-IBJ. Swissair never flew Constellations. Nevertheless, there were obviously two Connies in Swissair livery. In 1949, Swissair wanted to expand its transatlantic service and supplement the DC-4s. It was initially decided to lease two L-749s from KLM. In 1950, crews set out for Holland to fly HB-IBI and HB-IBJ to Zurich - the two Connies had already been painted and re-registered. At the very last minute, Swissair decided otherwise and the crews returned to Switzerland without the Connies. What had happened? The unexpected devaluation of the British pound had drastically worsened Swissair's economic situation. As a result, all plans to acquire a new long-haul fleet were put on hold for the time being. (Source: https://www.flightforum.ch/board/topic/92163-lockheed-l-1049-swissair-lackierung/) Please note: Red Wing L-1049 V2.5 is needed. 4K Textures. Grey cockpit style. /images/notams/notams21/virt0330/virt0330.jpgThe "Super G" was the most successful version of the Lockheed SuperConstellations and one of the last great piston-engine airliners. Soonafter the plane's introduction, it became clear that airlines wouldinvest in jet aircraft. For long range operations, the Super G couldbe fitted with extra wingtip tanks increasing the fuel capacity bytwo-thirds more than the original "Connie" models. The first flight ofthe G-model Constellation was on December 7, 1954 and it wasintroduced to commercial service by Northwest Airlines on July 1,1955.
