/images/notams/notams21/dino0914/dino-1.jpgAs we have not provided updates on our other projects in a while, here is a quick summary of where we are: T-45C GoshawkWe have decided to invest some time to learn how to make a decentHUD in HTML5+JavaScript (as opposed to the legacy XML code). The mainreason for this is better readability with different graphic settingsand portability to XBox - also, it is a technology that will be usefulfor the F-35 and M-346. We have also implemented Sim Update V cockpit interaction model andwe will have flight model and avionics improvements. We HOPE torelease this shortly, but as usual no shortcuts: it is done when it isdone. /images/notams/notams21/dino0914/dino-2.jpg /images/notams/notams21/dino0914/dino-3.jpg /images/notams/notams21/dino0914/dino-4.jpgAermacchi M-346We are remaking a few 3D parts as we thought they were not goodenough by our current standards. Apart from that, external textureshave been remastered to 8K and cockpit rebuild/retexturing iscomplete. We will also redo the HUD with HTML5/Javascript. Bestestimate for a beta is end of October. Sukhoi SU-31This project is moving forward...but not as quickly as wewant. Most of the modeling/avionics/cockpit interaction bugs have beensolved, Sim Update V cockpit model has been implemented and flightmodel has been refined...but it is not yet satisfactory. We do not have a release date for it at the moment. Also, we have been receiving a lot of messages about our futureprojects: at the moment we have nothing to announce BUT of course weare considering remaking our older planes (if we made them it isbecause we love them), but our focus is to try our best to deliverquality projects and this will be the driving factor of our futurechoices. /images/notams/notams20/ift1130.jpgWe know that the latest update of the MB-339 has created someproblems to third party liveries - we had arranged the files so thatthis should not happen theoretically but it did. We hope it has onlybeen a minor inconvenience, and the update was worth it. As a small sign of gratitude for your patience and your support, wehave decided to release yet another update which introduces the MLUvariant for the MB-339 - that will appear as a separate aircraft. The MLU variant is unique to the Italian Air Force and is onlyavailable in the ghost grey livery. It is also depicted with the 500liters cylindical tanks, as opposed to the older ellipical ones, although it can mount both in reality. You can easily tell MLU fromnon-MLU aircrafts as the MLU have the formation lights, and thenon-MLU do not. Note that the cockpit layout, for all versions, was already the MLUvariant and the PAN version is, more correctly, a PAN-MLU. Speaking of the PAN version, we have changed the suit and thehelmet of the rear seat occupant to olive drab + HGU-55 as this is amore common sight... blue suits with special HGU-33 are typicallyreserved for the Frecce Tricolori pilots while backseaters have"regular" flight gear... /images/notams/notams21/dino0329.jpgChangelog Version 1.21bAdded A-MLU Model (as separate aircraft)Improved internal engine sounds (jet whine volume increased)Rear pilot figure of MB-339 pan has now HGU-55 helmet and olive drab suit (as most commonly seen IRL)Purchase IndiaFoxtEcho - MB-339 For MSFS 2020

/images/notams/notams20/ift1130.jpgWe have just sent an updated MB-339 to all of the vendors: the newpackage is available now, except from Microsoft (it will probably takea week or so for them). This is a quite extensive update which coversa many aspects of the aircraft, including sounds and visuals. One of the most recurrent complaints on our rendition of the MB-339was that sounds were not "powerful" enough... we have replaced all thesound effects with better samples and, while they are far from beingperfect, they should be better now - at least in the externalviews. As for the internal sounds, frankly, the new samples sound verysimilar to the old ones (which is understandable given they were stillsamples from the same engine). In the visual department, we transferred to MSFS some of theimprovements we are making for the DCS version. In detail, allexternal textures have been remastered with additional details. Then, we have a lot of functional changes to the aircraftsystems...which should cover pretty much every comment we havereceived, except the canopy de-icing (which you still have to do viakeyboard) as it is not documented in the SDK. Here is the full change log: Quality of Life improvements: Remastered all external textures with higher detailChanged HSI DME last digit animation (now continuous)Fixed landing gear extraction and damaging speedsFixed bug that caused deletion of panel cover if gunsight is removed from A modelDecreased FD vertical bar sensitivityChanged rule of GS engagement from GS ARMImproved engine dynamicsRedone Wwise engine sounds, based on real world samplesFixed minor bug in Tacan/Frequency conversionFixed minor bug in RDU display not showing the correct frequencies for COM1 in some caseAdded indication of X/Y Tacan channelImproved cockpit self shadowingRear view mirror are now foldableAdded gear warning sound and silencerAdded streamers and covers if the aircraft is parkedAdded underwing pylons to A model (add any weight to the relevant load station)Added external fuel tanks to A model (add at least 51lbs to releval station - cosmetic only)Fixed VR cockpit collisionsFixed external light bug introduced by Sim Update 3Fixed external views HUDAdded g-stain soundFixed minor inaccuracies in warning test switch behaviorFixed minor bug preventing fine adjustment of OBS in some casesGPS number keys can now be used to select waypoints (1 to 10)Purchase IndiaFoxtEcho - MB-339 For MSFS 2020

/images/notams/notams20/foxt0810/mb339-4.jpgItaly is a wonderful country, and its rendition in Microsoft FlightSimulator is spectacular... so my friends of the Frecce TricoloriVirtuali and I thought that we badly needed to bring a good Italianplane to the new simulator. Long story short, we are happy and proud to announce thedevelopment of the Aermacchi MB-339 for Microsoft FlightSimulator! Actually we will be developing two products: MB-339PAN ("Lite version") - this version will be limited to theMB-339PAN (the special version of the Frecce Tricolori) and will usesimpler systems (based on default MSFS system) and a flight modelbased on the new MSFS flight model. We hope to release it veryquickly, possibly in September 2020, to have a proper fun little jetto explore the virtual Italian sky. It will be released for a verylow price. MB-339A ("Pro version") - this is a long-term project to port asmuch as possible of the custom systems and advanced flight model thatthe Frecce Tricolori Virtuali have developed for DCS into MSFS. It willbe an advanced aircraft and will be priced accordingly. We think it isunlikely it will be ready before 2021, but we'll try our best. So, let's have the screeshots to speak for themselves... /images/notams/notams20/foxt0810/mb339-3.jpg /images/notams/notams20/foxt0810/mb339-2.jpg /images/notams/notams20/foxt0810/mb339-1.jpgPS - Before some hard-core super-picky MB-339 fan writes an angrycomment, YES we know that the the PAN version typically does not mountthe gunsight...it is just a work-in-progress.
