valero
I have a plane installed that asks me to install DirectX 9 before flying the plane. It sends me to The Microsoft web side to download DX9. Is it safe to have DX9 installed alongside MSFS?
tiger1962
Yes it's safe, but which plane is asking for DX9? Tim Wright "The older I get, the better I was..." JSkorna
Are you even sure that plane is for MSFS? Seems strange that anything for MSFS would require DX9 to be installed. http://www.air-source.us/images/sigs/000219_195_jimskorna.png
tiger1962
Yes the latest version is DX12, but the DirectX files are like libraries so you can have several versions installed at once and they won't conflict with each other. valero
False alarm! downloaded DX9 but could not install it , windows says a newer version is installed. I ran the plane using DX11 and it worked perfectly. I ran it using DX12 and it also worked perfect. The warning appears in "My Hangar" under the plane specs window. So thanks, everything works!!
