AP altitude increments

Recommended Posts

I have mapped to my keyboard, adjustment of the autopilot altitude hold settings. I found trying to do it with the mouse was too difficult. It was working OK with easily manageable increments - 100 feet I think but cannot be sure. Now, the increments are 2200 feet which is not all that convenient. Does anyone know how I can get the increments back to something manageable i.e. 100 feet?

This seems to have stumped us all. As an alternative, does anyone know if there is a file that dictates the increments for the autopilot altitude hold panel controls?

FSUIPC used to have a fix. Don't know whether it still does? Needed the payware versh, though...

Yes, you haven't told us which autopilot you're using or in which aircraft!

The stock Garmin G1000 on any aircraft fitted with it. In particular the C172 and Bonanza. Edited by nsproles

On the G1000, there are inner and outer clickspots for selecting increments in 100's and 1000's. To select 100 increments, hold your mouse cursor over the centre of the knob and scroll your mousewheel forward to increase or backward to decrease in 100's. Edited by tiger1962

Yes, I am aware of that but it is not easy to do with a mouse. I mapped the commands to increase and decrease autopilot reference altitude to my keyboard to make it easier. Initially, it increased or decreased in 100 foot increments which was satisfactory. Now it increments by 2200 foot increments which is not satisfactory and I cannot explain the change. I was hoping someone familiar with config files or whatever could point me in the correct direction to do something about fixing it.

It is if you zoom in to the panel by pressing Ctrl+2 (or Ctrl+3 in some planes). You should re-set your Alt commands to default first of course.
