Asobo recommended deleting the Manual Cache...

Recommended Posts

...within the settings, but I don't see a delete button other then zeroing out the cache size. Is there a reason I should not just delete it in the Windows folder?

BTW, I never created any scenery areas yet because I was waitng for the sim to mature a bit first.

Don't really want to mess with deleting it because I made a 9Tb manual cache and it took about 30 HOURS!

9Tb!!! 16Gb is more than enough! If you've already updated the sim and don't use the manual cache anyway, leave it as it is.

Yeah, TBH I'm thinking of not bothering with a manual cache if I have to keep deleting and rebuilding it every time MS update the sim. Might just keep a cache of my local area though.

Tim, bought the 10Tb drive before the sim was released with the intention of creating scenery for off-line use. But as of now, I get the usual nonsense of "Please insert disk" when I try running without internet. I also created a 1Tb Rolling Cache.

When I started making the cache, figured probably take about as long as formatting a drive. After a hour or two walked away and left it alone. About 30 hours later it was finally done. This was BEFORE Asobo added any indication of progress.

cianpars, are you deleting just the scenery areas within the sim or deleting the whole cache file outside the sim?

My internet went offline for 5 days last November due to roadworks in our area, and that's all I got as well. As far as I can tell, it only works if you lose connection while the sim is running. If you quit the sim and re-launch it with no internet, "please insert disk". If I could, believe me I would, and Asobo can guess where!
