Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC

Didn't get to bed last night

On the way the paper bag was on my knee

Man I had an awful flight

I'm back in the U.S.S.R

You don't know how lucky you are boy

The Beatles

Here are some shots of a Soviet U.S.S.R era IL-18 Russian airliner making a late afternoon departure from Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport (UUEE). Designed in the same late 1950's timeframe as the U.S. Lockheed Electra the turboprop IL-18 had a similar appearance and performance characteristics. The IL-18's rugged design soon made it a workhorse of Russian and Eastern European aviation and it remains in service today.

This FSX version is in the classic Aeroflot blue and white paint scheme with the winged hammer and sickle logo. The modern Russian flag on the tail, however, shows it to be a post Soviet era airplane.

Great shots Bill!!

My wife, a long time Beatles fan plays that song on a regular basis. Being a longtime Beach Boys fan, I've always thought it was a rip off of their album!!

That's part of why we married, we both feel comfortable to argue our opinions, yet still get along!! ;)

Michael

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
