FSX Device Manager

Lost my HD a few weeks ago. New O.S. installed, but now in my Device Manager

listing under Sound, video and game controllers I have the following items listed:

Nvidia H.D. Audio, NVidia Virtual Audio.... Realtek H.D. Audio, Sound Blaster Audigy,

and Sound Blaster Audio Control.

I have been having CTD's ( playing Steam) at various times.

Which ones can I disable, if any? I have installed the latest drivers and the Sound Blaster

card is new.

Any help would be highly appreciated :)

What makes you think the CTDs are caused by one of those drivers?

IMO they can all remain enabled.

Realtek drives the Mobo sound chip (and whatever's connected to the Mobo output connectors).

Nvidia driver allows to pass sound through HDMI or DisplayPort to built-in speakers in the monitor.

SoundBlaster driver is for whatever is connected to the separate sound card.

You know best what's connected to what output.

Nvidia audio is coming from your HDMI or Displayport. If you have Nvidea Experience installed that may pose an issue. The Nvidia driver leaks telemetry and can be controlled via the hosts file.

Delete any which are no longer required.

But have installers ready if/when you find the one you need.

Realtek audio should be the first to go...
