Rupert
Today Wikipedia had an article on the Corinth Cal near Athens in Greece. This old canal was dug to save a day or more of sailing around an isthmus. It was dug so shops, of that era, could sail through and save a day or two of travel time. It was also dug deep enough that it could be traversed at both high and low tide without the need of locks!. Finding that curious I took a flight in a Maule from Athens to Tripolis which included traveling down the length of the canal. Please click on each shot to get a description. And yes, some shots are in the Reply as well. ;) Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
