Rupert
What exactly is that? A bit lost here. In the real world today, it's a machine (pump) driven water spout or "fountain" using lake water. A little reading of their city history told me the original Geneva utility fresh water system in the 1800's had an excess pressure vent right by the lake. At times apparently excess pressure built up and blew the city water out of the vent and into the lake which released that excess pressure. When the water system was updated in the 1900's the vent was no longer needed and therefore there was no water spout. But residents and tourists to Geneva made many complaints about missing the water spout. So to calm complaints, and this happened over a hundred years ago, the city installed a conventional electric driven water pump in the lake itself to pump lake water up and out over the lake. This was to replicate what happened from time to time as the old city water system vented. I skied in Switzerland in the late 90's but never actually went near Geneva. But I went online and found pictures of the current water spout. Based on the pictures I saw posted there, both Andy's and my screenshot appear pretty accurate. azzaro
Comic to audience member, "What's your name?" She says, "Pataka." Comic says, "Now there's a name you dont hear every day!" She says, "Actually... I do." So much for metaphor.
