azzaro
Catania to Reggio Calabria via Messina. This inspred me to do a little research on the Kingdom of Sicily. Here's a link to the Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Sicily. If you're at all interested in European history it's well worth the read. I now have a much better understanding of the Italian schism between north and south. On with the pictures. -- Bob [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7-7700 3.6GHz / GTX1660 6GB / 32GB RAM / 49" Samsung CHG90 / WIN10

flightsimg
That strait of Messina was to be fitted with a large bridge, which never occurred due to corruption, etc. And in terms of history, yes, southern Italy kept a tradition of being linked to Greece after the Roman empire fall (before the Empire that was land of Greek colonies), as it was also subject to Arabic raids, then Northmen (who founded a kingdom there by 1000 A.D.), then German imperial Hohenstaufen and eventually since about 1300, Spaniard dynasties A whole lot of history, and stories  On the other hand, BTW, cool pics! ;) Gérard Guichard, Dijon, Burgundy, France. i5 Intel processor, 4 Go of Ram, Nvidia GeForce 920MX, DirectX 12.0, and FSX Gold Edition with SP1, SP2. Italy should be bankrupt if you look at the official numbers. Something like 25% of the economy is underground. When you've been governed by every group in Europe you learn to adapt. The leaders at the top change, the middle managers and local bureaucrats go on forever. For example, I'm not at all thrilled they built that bridge to the Isle Of Skye! Michael Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
