Freeware Fun: Ryan Navion

Here's another freeware gem, available on Sim Outhouse, the Ryan Navion, by LDR development.

After WW2, the engineers at North American Aviation, who brought us the Mustang among others, came up with this beautiful GA aircraft. All metal construction, and if you look closely, you see the family resemblance to the Mustang, in the wings for instance. Later, they sold the model to Ryan, who countinued to make them.

I think it is one of the best looking GA, very sleek, and I love that car-style canopy. What do you think?

Navions were very nice aircraft. I don't know why they weren't more popular in the late 60's when I began flying RW. I did know one party who owned one, and he had nothing but nice positive things to say about his bird! They certainly have a nice appealing appearance to them!

Thanks Jan, some very nice looking aircraft!

Like the approach one! Great! :pilot:

As far as the term 'Navion' is concerned, of interest for you English-speaking people, is that 'navion,' in French, is a kind of child's word for 'avion' ('plane')
