flightsimg
That might be a great step, from the vids I saw. Provided they keep most of the FS franchise's capacities and controls. flightsimg
Adding some stills from one of the vid! Some are stating that Microsoft will set the standard for flightsim for the next 10 years (the time for which the new franchise is scheduled to last!) Looks true because pics are really amazing :pilot: Looks like there won't any Boeing :( There should be a Robin DR400 :):) All airports with personal, vehicles, etc. Don't know for smaller terrains Even low rise cities well modeled. Here is Marseille, France Photoreal worldwide. Looks great and with a weather modelization up to that! A amazing idea of close-view terrain! flightsimg
Most bad new! The new FS will be available only through the Microsoft Xbox Game Pass PC, a monthly subscription feature, a choice the community will have to react strongly to! :( Gérard Guichard, Dijon, Burgundy, France. i5 Intel processor, 4 Go of Ram, Nvidia GeForce 920MX, DirectX 12.0, and FSX Gold Edition with SP1, SP2. NMLW
It remains to be seen if it is intended to meet the needs of gamers or serious flight simmers. Larry

flightsimg
Sure! If that announcement really opens unto a new iteration of FS, that will be the cornerstone about which the simming community will decide! About that thread, on the other hand, I think that the premium place where to have some debate might be at https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?19423-Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-Returns-For-Xbox on that site (and more links likely to be published, I think). I just wanted to be sure that you simmers had gotten that most important new! :):) Gérard Guichard, Dijon, Burgundy, France. i5 Intel processor, 4 Go of Ram, Nvidia GeForce 920MX, DirectX 12.0, and FSX Gold Edition with SP1, SP2. azzaro
I'm afraid I've been down this primrose path too many times in the past ten years to get excited. Yes, the video is very pretty and quite impressive but the proof, as they say, is in the pudding. flightsimg
Yes, completely agree. Let's wait and see But I'm sure a lot of simmers would be delighted with such a level of detail, the usual FS capacities (and more :):) ) and a boxed version! azzaro
OK. Here's goes some speculation. If we are to assume that any new FS version would seek to be better and more complete than previous version and other current products, that would require the reproduction of most of the world on an Orbx scale of quality. Do they ship the product on 500 DVDs? Or expect us to download two terabytes of files? What about updates and fixes? It seems likely that all that juicy data would be held in central servers and supplied to the user over broadband as needed during the flight. Making a future FS more like Office 360 or other subscription software schemes. A high-res Google Earth, if you will. "The world on time", hmm, catchy slogan. And... discuss. -- Bob [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7-7700 3.6GHz / GTX1660 6GB / 32GB RAM / 49" Samsung CHG90 / WIN10

flightsimg
data would be held in central servers and supplied to the user over broadband as needed during the flight Sure, and it's what most of commentators state On the other hand, I'm sure the flightsim community would like that all the fundamental outside Big data, be contained on a boxed version In that case, Big data would impede only simmers with a slow bandwith Wifi Gérard Guichard, Dijon, Burgundy, France. i5 Intel processor, 4 Go of Ram, Nvidia GeForce 920MX, DirectX 12.0, and FSX Gold Edition with SP1, SP2. azzaro
I would love to have complete control over my game but the level of graphics and capabilities we've come to expect involve massive amounts of data and computing power. I simply don't see how it can be achieved without cloud computing. Very few gamers are willing to buy a Cray to have it all in-house. There are still many happily playing FS9 — a new product will not take away what we already have. It will only make it cheaper. Let's see what you got MS. Bring it on. -- Bob [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] i7-7700 3.6GHz / GTX1660 6GB / 32GB RAM / 49" Samsung CHG90 / WIN10
