Another thing you don't see every day.

I was feeling the need to explore so I decided to fly over Lac Manicougan in Quebec.

A little background information:

The lake, or reservoir as it is also called, just happens to be the world's sixth largest impact crater.

Believed to be the result of and asteroid which impacted as five fragments about 215 million years ago.

Not as big as the dinosaur-ending biggie in Yucatan but leaving a respectable 100 Km (62 mile) wide crater.

For those who care the flight is from CYWK (Wabush, Labrador) to CYBC (Baie Comeau, Quebec).

The aircraft is the Carenado Beech 1900D. I was flying at 10,000 ft. but still needed a satellite view to get the whole thing.

Hope you find this interesting.

That body of water is the St. Lawrence river. It gets twice as wide further east.

I thought up ten awful puns for this set, but couldn't decide which would make the post.

As it turns out no pun in ten did. -- Bob
