Summer Rotation Brussels, EBBR- Heraklion, Greece, LGIR!

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

Keeping summer, keeping our rotations to/from resort locations! That time we flew a long, 3-hour flight to bring tourists we boarded in Brussels, Belgium EBBR down to Heraklion, Greece in the island of Crete. A mostly uneventful flight, with fine views of the arrival in Crete! Thence, we just had a extra 30 minute of stopover as we were on Sunday. Then back to our hub in Brussels and the workday will be over :):)

Our route passed over the Alps by western Austria

Then, we sided the Croatian shores on a route heading South

Few after Albania -- and lunch time -- we reached to northern Greece

Once we flew all the way along Greece down to Athens, we began to see first Greek islands

all my flights with:

.boxed FSX Gold Edition with the Acceleration Pack

.my plane, a Cantu/Kittyhawk Boeing 737-200ADV I tweaked under several aspects, and made liveries for; using the ENBSeries for FSX freeware to improve light bloom from inside the flightdeck or the pax views

.some miscellaneous freeware improvements (tarmac textures, pax window view, and the like with some airport aprons, taxiways and runways improved by me from the FSX default) and the airports I flew to/from improved with photoreal textures through the freeware FS Earth Tiles software

.people on the tarmacs, my creation with personalized default FSX people

.weather with http://www.plane-pics.de/fsxwx/home.htm FSXWX (and some clouds textures like adviced)

.flightplan partly with the https://www.simbrief.com/ simBrief site

.flight doc with the e-AIP sites of countries concerned

I like the shot over the Alps and the cloud cover is realistic

Ah! That one I nearly missed it -- the clouds excepted!! Because, once at my flight level, I just use the acceleration function of FSX (under a flight plan, one can accelerate up to 8 x). And when I estimated I could make a fine pic of the Alps and returned to normal, FSX terrain textures took a time to turn accurate. Thus, instead of dead Austria, that one is more at the Austrian-Italian border :):)

Otherwise, thank you for the kind comment

Hey G'erard,

I love snow in the Alps, Rockies, etc.! That makes great skiing! It's snow, especially ice, on the roads during a commute that I don't enjoy.

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.

Thanks Rupert and Kenny for the comments!

Rupert: I don't see why that focus of the forum's flightsimmers about that snow in the Alps! Maybe the days of heat everywhere in the northern hemisphere worldwide?!
