We have 800 gallons of fuel on board for the 100 nm flight of about fifty minutes. We are expecting thunderstorms, heavy cloud cover and low visibility for the entire flight. The skies lighten up a bit as we pass over the small towns and farms of the Flemish region of southeastern Belgium. 12. East of Lubbeek we begin to descend. 13. In and out of the clouds and rain we are descending through 5,500 feet. 14. About 7 nm from Brussels Zaventem at 2,500 feet with gear down and flaps 20. 15. Now below the clouds and lining up our approach to runway 2 at Zaventem. 16. We have the runway in sight about 2 nm out on final approach with flaps 40 17. Touchdown. 18. Turning off the runway. 19. Taxiing toward the terminal and parking. 20. Parked at gate 9, engines shut down and passengers disembarked. Thanks for flying Sabena.
