The probably most beautiful (and most silent) way to fly...

Recommended Posts

Hey folks!

I know, I know - it has been a long time since I posted something, especially here, but guess what! Though I have been posting rarely I did not exit the flightsim-plane. Actually it has been rising after all, flying for a never ending journey :pilot:

Anyway, this time I found myself in EDBM Magdeburg (my virtual "home base" for anything flights, which I recreated in deepest details - quite proud of it), in a Schleicher ASW 27 B (by Wolfgang Piper), paired with CumulusX! and WinchX! by Peter Lürkens - a really nice combination to fly gliders with!

You may ask: Why is it the probably most beautiful way to fly?

Well, just take a look... (original size)

About to get pulled by the winch - 800m with 110km/h!

Turn after turn after turn we gain some altitude!

This image proves why this is the most beautiful way to fly... elegance, beauty, simplicity!

Second part time!

Windmills for "clean electricity" - this region has lots of them.

A view on Magdeburgs inner city - the main station and the cathedral visible, as well as the parliament of Saxony-Anhalt.

A funny way to annoy the ATC: Gain speed, pull back the steering lever and do loopings!

I hope these few years do not let me look older :p I'm doing quite good, been through some rough times but I guess I'm over it now, as life seems to treat me well :D Thanks for the compliment, much appreciated!

Adam has said it all, nice job and welcome back!

As the pilot that soars is about as close to an Eagle soaring, you accomplished here in these pictures. If any simmers get the opportunity to go soaring do it, it is the only way to fly. Kenny

Thanks a lot Kenny! I agree with you, every simmer must fly in a glider at least once - iirc it's actually really cheap: the club near me charges around 15 bucks (or a box of beer :D) for a 5 Minute flight.
