FSGenesis NEXTMap Peru and Machu Picchu

You have linked a screenshot of a mesh product.

Meshes provide terrain (hills and valleys), not textures and scenery objects.

Your mesh may very well give you an excellent Machu Picchu terrain, but certainly no scenery detail. ;)

Yes I know..How can you be so certain unless you have it?

The screenshot of the box shows what looks like detailed Machu Picchu area.

AGAIN: If you have Genesis Peru, please post screenshot of Machu Picchu area.

Yea I know I'm a pest but....does anyone a screenshot of that Genesis Peru area.

Is the box picture correct?

It's obvious that you are not going to get a screenshot of that Machu Picchu area , I agree with a previous post that it will just show good quality terrain but not the Inca ruins.

You are not alone regards wanting the ruins to show up , I know that I would love that also .When I first created the Lat/Long Flight Plan entry aspect of my 'Mission Adaptive Flight Plan Editor' I did a google search for the actual Lat/Long of Machu Picchu and

entered that into a flight plan and flew there , 2 observations,

- no Machu Picchu ruins

- the FSX mesh for that portion of the Andes is utterly terrible , you should have seen

the messy terrain contours on my radar screen , so any improvement in mesh in that

area would be magnificent .

My suggestion is that you Email the mesh developer and enquire if thay have a product that depicts the Machu Picchu ruins "or" if they know of a good quality ruins scenery.

If you get a response from them , please keep us informed of any information that you get here on this thread.

I had a look at the link provided by Mr Zippy but was not able to read the language there , it would be interesting to see screenshots of that scenery (the ruins) , and to hear comments/opinions on it.

Cheers

Karol

I did the download from that link but I did not install to my Sim. It's a folder containing a Scenery and a Texture folder so it will go into Addon Scenery folder and be added to the Scenery Library. Here are the screenshots from the download. You be the Judge.

Mr Zippy

Thanks for that one.

To me it looks really good , hill shapes are reasonable , ruins are fantastic.

The green is a little overdone and the merge to scenery is a little abrupt ,

but I can live with that , and it's a project and area that the commercial scenery developers will never do because they will not get the sales numbers to justify it.

From memory I used to have to fly about 55 nm North East of Cusco to reach it's proximity , these days I just enter it's Lat/Long to find it , and now I'll have the

Inca ruins insitu.

Cheers

Karol

Thanks Karol:

There are several Mexico and South American photo scenery creators Ill send them E-mails

The scenery that is available I would install FS98 not FSX.

Ill just have to wait.

Thanks Mr Zippy

The box screenshot is deceiving.

Hi, I have the FSGenesis mesh software, I'm using it with SceneryTech land class. As an alternative I sometimes switch to the OFX south america enhancement. Where exactly do you want those screenies taken? (coordinates and a bearing would be nice)

btw, if you come across usable photo scenery (Peru), please let me know.

I just realized that those freeware ruins have a flattening polygon attached.

These shots were retaken trying to emulate the well known postcard perspective. FSX Gold boxed and GEX.

OFX South America - here the mesh seems to be way off. The actual ridge is a couple of hundred feet to my right.
