  1. I posted this in another thread so I'll just copy and paste it here---: I had the same problem but now I have it working just like FSX. Here's how: Go to "Options" and then "Controls". Find your joystick and map your Hat switch as follows: The commands you are looking for are "Cockpit look down, "Cockpit look down left" ect... Map "Cockpit look down" to "POV" (with the arrow pointing down), "Cockpit down left" to "POV (with the arrow pointing down and to the left) and so on. The most important thing is to pay attention to anything that is already mapped to you Hat switch because you HAVE to delete all duplicate commands or they will override your new mapping. Hope this helps and good luck!

  3. Also a big problem that I had was not knowing which axis my rudder was. Go to the sensitivities menu and just move whatever you are trying to map and you will see movement on screen. In my case i found my rudder axis and then just mapped my rudder to that axis.
  4. Yes there is a pan feature. Use the look commands but the key is to make sure that you delete duplicate commands.
  5. Ok another stupid problem. My throttle has a rudder control but I can't seem to get it mapped correctly. Under rudder control the sim has Axis x L- and R- but nothing for just X axis. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. OK, so it's working and the really good news is it is downloading the delux premium stuff now! That stuff appears to be only 3.79 Gigs.
  7. Well I am now at 90.70 of 91.36 Gigs. Now watch the damn thing not work lol. I took the day off so I could stay up late and fly. I figured 2-3 hour download tops. Good times!
  8. I was wondering if the commands that we have all been using for 20+ years are the same in the new MSFS? I would love to just be able to jump in and hit "S" for change views, "F2" for reverse thrust, and so on. Anybody know?
  9. No build but I have an AMD 2700x paired with a GTX 1070Ti. Time to upgrade the GPU but I'm waiting until the RTX 3000 series arrive in September.
  10. Let's be honest with each other. We are all going to buy FS2020 no matter how many other sims we have. I have every version of MSFS since FS98, X-planes 10 and 11. I even have Flightgear, Fly!2 and I did have Flight Unlimited 3 and X-plane 7 but I haven't been able to find them in years. Most of us have no choice because this is an addiction.
  11. Yes they should have a direct IP option. Hell you can still fly multiplayer with FS98 that way....if you wanted too I guess lol.

    11.50 Wow!!!!!

My specs are: Ryzen 7 2700X @ 4ghz EVGA GTX 1070ti 32 gig of Corsair RGB ram Samsung 1 TB ssd As for my settings I have a video uploading to youtube right now and I'll post the link here after it's done but suffice it to say that all sliders are to the right. I am flying in 1080p and my frames dipped to 23 fps a few times but if the frame rate wasn't displayed you would have thought it was a solid 60. Stay tuned for the video. About 1.5 hours upload time left.

    11.50 Wow!!!!!

So the hype is real! No stutters what-so-ever! I flew Chicago just buzzing around the city with X-plane Maxed and no stutters with solid frame rates! Nice job Austin!
  14. That rig will work just fine. Before I upgraded I was using an AMD FX-8350, GTX-970 and 16 gigs of ram and it ran X-Plane just fine. My new rig is a Ryzen 7 2700x with a GTX-1070Ti and 32 gigs of ram and with that I can max the sim and have great FPS. You should be fine.
  15. Well I'd say that Samsung had better up their game with bigger SSD's because ain't no way I'm going back to spinning platters.:)
  16. I agree. I have a 1070ti and it does ok but not great so that 940 ain't gonna cut it. My wife has a laptop with a 1050ti in it and it is very laggy in VR. Time to upgrade my friend. Sorry for the bad news.
  17. I go into FS9 and make flight plans with FSNAV and then print them out and fly them in FSX using only VOR's,NDB's and ILS's. The flight planner in FSX is lacking, to say the least, and the GPS is just too "lazy". I also fly X-plane 11, which I love, and then come back to FSX and realize just how good this 12 year old sim really is. It has it's little quirks but in my opinion it is still the most fun. It may not have the best graphics anymore,or the best flight model, but to me it is the most entertaining. That's what counts.
