  1. just noticed it's wrongly listed as a complete aircraft, you actually need the base model by Dean Crawford. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  2. you need the the base model by Dean Crawford available here at Flightsim.com. Then install my new files.
  3. Thanks a stack to Erwin Welker for this outstanding almost payware-like aircraft! Another highlight for the simmer community. Michael
  4. You're right, sorry for the inconvenience. To remedy, open the aircraft.cfg and delete the word "neu" after the entry "sound=". That's it.
  5. It sure is the old Alphasim but thanks to Scrubby for his new FSX version as it has done away with some disturbing grafic bugs displayed in FSX.
  6. if you wish to have these panel and interior updates for Scrub's Tempest II as well, no problem. 1. Remove the default panel folder and use the new one. 2. Copy and paste all the bitmaps named "cockpit_panelsX", "canopy (2)" and "surround" from this "texture.shared" folder into the Tempest MKII texture folder and overwrite. That's it. By uploader
  7. The instrunents are there if you follow the readme instructions "copy the gauges in the gauges folder into the main gauges directory"!
  8. thanks, nice and crisp repaint! Users should know though that the bitmap "Pilot" has to be replaced with Michael Pook's respective bitmap or else the static vc will be terribly blurred in both FS2004 and FSX.
  9. thanks, Erwin, for this awesome VC update, terrific job!! Michael
  10. This definitely is a nice model but, hey, there is a beautiful MD-11 available with VC, so why would I want to use this with just an old default B-737-800 2D panel!? No way...
  11. In his readme Mr Scrub has given Rob Richardson credits for the "internal model", so I woudn't call it "stealing". As far as I know, Scrub has always given credits to the original designers of features he has used in his updates.
  12. it does get airborne but needs a long runway. If you want it to get airborne sooner, go to the aircraft.cfg, look for the "flight_tuning" entry and change the entry "elevator_effectiveness" like this: elevator_effectiveness=3.0
  13. I've downloaded and installed it with no problems whatsoever. However, I usually don't use the self-installer of an older model but unzip it to a new folder and install it manually, which I did with this one. The contact points are ok on my system, too, but I'm probably gonna re-upload the package with a modified VC and a 2D panel included. Thanks to Leonardo for finding and posting this nice model.
  14. how about reading the readme, as far as how copying gauges into the gauges directory is concerned??!! But I apologize, maybe you can't read too well... By the way, there is no other freeware Convair 880 available with a functioning VC. And above all, Buddy, this is HOBBY! Think twice before you start criticising the way you do. And as for the model, this is a very old FS2002 model, not a native FSX, so don't exspect the quality of a payware or a modern FSX model. But who knows, maybe you could do a better job.
  15. Very good job, but I'll stick to the Alphasim version, because its VC is more elaborate and more complete and detailed. However, I do like the new MFDs, which I've incorporated in my Alpha version and my Lockheed Blackbird.
  16. the new panel doesn't have a HSI, instead there is a compass which is visible in the 2D panel as well as in the VC! Not using the new panel kills all the extras in the VC.
  17. Well, buddy, your history of flight simming can't be very long! You're perfectly right, this is not a perfect VC, but I have seen much worse VCs than this one and have tried to improve and enhance them. The default panel bitmaps of this plane didn't allow for more improvement. As this is hobby and freeware, there is no reason for that kind of arrogant criticism unless one can do a better job.
  18. Hi, haven't noticed any instability, what are the characteristics of the instability you're experiencing?
  19. nice model, no doubt about that. However, the cockpit screenshot clearly depicts a virtual cockpit, which, according to the description, is not part of this model. This is what I would call a misleading and dishonest posting of an aircraft model, particularly for those users who are not too knowledgable of that matter.
  20. thanks Erwin, this cruise ship really is the tops! Makes you wanna go on a cruise right away! Michael
