  1. Rick Piper's still excellent Avro 748 if you want a twin turbo prop that has operated all over the world both in civil and military form as the Andover CC.1. It has a superb functional VC,excellent A/P and top notch Rolls Royce Dart sounds.
  2. Peeples, Does anyone know where I can get the above for Kaz Ito's AS.1 please? Flying Stations web site is long gone, but is there anywhere else they were uploaded to? I believe the FSX sounds can be also used to enhance things further. Cheers,Miggs

    Curious

Like Chris,I tend to scour E-Bay or Gumtree for S/H stuff,I recently bought a JF photo scenery set for less than $5 including postage.
  4. Well tutored gentlemen, the job is sorted after a lot of faff and tinkering.
  5. I've converted it to an xml file, the drag and dropped it onto the bglcomp application, but all it does is flashes very quickly and doesn't seem to produce a BGL file.
  6. I too have been a beta tester and an Fs pilot for years,a big thanks to all I've tested for and all I've downloaded and had on my Fs. Your efforts are all really appreciated.
  7. Ok gents,I've changed and added the lines to the top and then done as Tom suggests^^ and mad all waypoints into a single file in Notepad. then opened XML Notepad, pointed it to the Notepad txt file to create an XML file, this is what I get: "Your XML document contains no xml-stylesheet processing instruction. To provide an XSLT transform, add the following to the top of your file and edit the href attribute accordingly: You can also enter the XSLT file name using the above text box, but this will not persist with your XML document. The following HTML is provided by the default XSLT transform which is designed to pretty print your XML document. "
  8. Struggling with SDK BGL Comp myself. I've been trying to get this to compile for ages to no avail: xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd"> lat="53.091240" lon="-2.225852" waypointType="NAMED" magvar="2.8" waypointRegion="UK" waypointIdent="HOMES"> xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd"> lat="53.114790" lon="-2.212972" waypointType="NAMED" magvar="2.8" waypointRegion="UK" waypointIdent="MOWCO"> xmlns:xsi='http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance' xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="bglcomp.xsd"> lat="53.14333" lon="-2.19917" waypointType="NAMED" magvar="2.8" waypointRegion="UK" waypointIdent="LISTO"> Any chance you could have a look and tell me where it's wrong please chris?
  9. This is what I have, the names of what I'd like to add plus latitude and longitude . HOMES Lat. 53.09124071648439 Long.-2.2258526086831636 MOWCO Lat.53.114790322568304 Long -2.2129726409299004 LISTO Lat.53.14333 Long.-2.19917 HOMES is my house,MOWCO is a local landmark and LISTO is the nearest VRP to my house, just north east of the town of Congleton. The lat/long of LISTO is from here:http://www.aeroresource.co.uk/resources/uk-waypoints-map/ the ones for my home(HOMES)and Mow Cop(MOWCO) are from Google earth. As I say,I haven't a clue with XML. I have Microsoft SDK.
  10. FS9 does indeed use FSUIPC to inject the weather. I run FSreal WXLite,FSUIPC is what it uses.
  11. I mostly fly low level between 2 and 5 thousand and would like to add my home,a local landmark and my nearest waypoint into Fs2004. I have the lat. and long.(from Google Maps) of the points I'd like to add,but haven't a clue about XML code that I believe I need so I can add then in. I have the Microsoft SDK and roughly understand how to use it to make a BGL file to add into World scenery and activate the VRP/waypoint. If someone could create the XML file for me to use I'd be most grateful.
  12. Very good point well made Andy,I never thought of that. I have TNW installed and running,so it quite well could have been that.
  13. It certainly is,yesterday I started the sim,it threw up a scenery updating and everything returned to normal !!!. The VW is camouflaged and the two added repaints have their colours. Much investigation needed methinks.
  14. A few weeks ago I d/l'ed the Volkswagen Type 87 and installed it as per. When I started my sim to have a go in it,something flashed up about scenery updating. The VW appeared in white with no textures at all. Since then I've added Plane Sailing's PBY "Miss Pickup" textures to my Alphasim Catalina, once again,no textures, just a white aircraft. I've just d/l'ed Steve Beeny's Sea Hawk FGA.6,it loaded with the included textures, but not the extra "WV908" textures I've added into it,they showed up white again. Anyone any ideas what the dickens has happened????
  15. I use FXReal Lite by the same outfit,Hansa Coders. It works well.
  16. Been using Del's Dove for years,it certainly is a cracker(the Heron is good too).
  17. Excellent,thanks gents. It's in and flying.
  18. Ok so,I went and got the Milton Shupe D 18,loaded it up and yes,it's superb. But I'm trying to get the "Southern Comfort"/G-BSZC repaint to work,I've tried all the tricks I know but it just won't show up. Has anyone actually got it to work?
  19. Ok so,I went and got the Milton Shupe D 18,loaded it up and yes,it's superb. But I'm trying to get the "Southern Comfort"/G-BSZC repaint to work,I've tried all the tricks I know but it just won't show up. Has anyone actually got it to work?
  20. Cheers for that Robin. I'll get onto it. Of the ones in UK,(G-BKGL,GM,G-BKRN,G-ASUG)GL sports a USAAC colour scheme,GM a Navy scheme, RN a Far East RAF scheme and UG is in a museum in civvy colours. G-BSZC sports a lovely USAF scheme with "Southern Comfort"nose art,so I'll see what's available for those a/c.
  21. Gents, I fancy a Beech 18,there's a couple of lovely ones here in UK at the moment. Which one is good,Milton Shupe's or the Simtech version please?
  22. Thanks Dirk. Senior moment there with the wind at Valley,I meant 120 to 160 for 14,if not then it's due West-ish so then it goes to 19/10. Most of the time it's from the South/South East. 08/26 is now completely closed for take-off/landing after the 2017 14/32 runway upgrade and lengthening work,it's used as a fast taxi way to get from 25 Sqn parking to the North taxi way and past the old 22 Sqn SAR hanger/heli pads when taking off from 14.
  23. AFAIK,this is the Alpha Sim Lizzie: https://www.wizzsim.com/downloads/download/47-fs2004-warbirds/3449-fs2002-fs2004-westland-lysander-great-britain-l-6877.html
  24. That's the thing, the wind,75%of the time at Valley the wind is at about 300-ish degrees(due to the airfield alignment)so 14 is usually the active runway. When the wind swings,it's usually from the West,so 160-200 degrees and then 19 becomes the active. Fs ATC constantly(unless conditions are IMC)gives 31/32 as the active, even if you ask for an ILS approach to 14,it wants you to circle to land on 31/32. I've d/l'ed the new BGL,just drop it into the folder the same as the other or do I have to remove your other BGL first Dirk?
  25. Tested. The 780 handles it well. All I need now is to figure out how to modify the XML code so that Fs thinks that 14,whether ILS or visual is the constant active. That's how it works at RW Valley. The only other thing is the approach altitude that ATC gives,6500' to acquire the beam, surely that would be more like 2000-2500'?
