  1. I will try this. I’m not sure what is calling the sounds; maybe it’s because I added sounds from a different panel (I added a panel for a DC9, from dennis I think) and the aircraft itself (either the air file or the cfg) is calling for these sounds, not the panel? Might be useful to add these sounds exist whether or not in panel view.
  2. Emphasis on "when paused", as well as when exiting the sim (and there should be no sound at that point).
  3. Hi y'all again, This wasn't an issue for a while, but when using Marco Spada's MD80 panel, when paused I'll hear airflow sounds, and now, in addition, while in takeoff run, door-banging sounds as well. I thought I identified the sounds I wanted removed, but even when I taking them out, they continue to play while paused. It's a hair annoying when watching replays or when pausing the sim for a second. (these sounds cannot be muted when pressing the sound-off key). Anyone ever run into this issue?
  4. I've pretty much (after a lot of consolidating) isolated the issue to be one particular texture; an Atlas Air 763 texture, but it looks fine... like it's a bmp file. I may just re-download it and hope it works. It's worked before (so I think, I've had it for a while), I don't know why it would decide to break down all of a sudden. For now I just had the aircraft.cfg pick the other texture file in the same aircraft (there's two textures; both the same, but one has a different registration). So yeah the texture appears to be the immediate culprit. What caused it to act like an FSX texture, I'm not sure.
  5. I've had this issue before, but I don't know how I've fixed it. I'm afraid there's an FS9 reinstall in my future, again.. I looked up a previous thread of mine, but it's useless, and actually different. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?299839-GPS-is-blank This time it appears to be some sort of memory leak as opposed to what may just be "missing fonts". I've had similar issues before, my hypothesis is there's an FSX gauge or texture involved that's causing this, but it's likely to be starting from the GPS. I've already removed some gauges that were a part of a panel installed for an L1011 (rest assured if that's responsible I won't be using it again...), but the GPS issue and memory leak persists. Here's what I have so far in conclusion: GPS blank, textures begin to disappear, it's probably an addon with FSX stuff. https://imgur.com/a/7bEztnD Even without loading the aircraft, it appears to still be affecting the sim adversely. It happens in Seattle-Tacoma, observed only here, not in AUS, or SAT, I don't know why.... It also only happens during certain times of the day (early). I really think it's an AI texture or something but I don't know... And now I've sort of figured it out, although it may not even be relevant and the problem may still be lurking. When I remove the afcad I have for SEA, I no longer see a memory leak. I thought it was my newer afcad but putting an older one still screws with the dang simulator. Maybe an aircraft texture that doesn't pop up sometimes because there's no room for it to spawn? I already removed Thomas Cook Airlines from the equation entirely (my latest AI installed) which flies into SEA, but yeah the problem persists...
  6. Update, removed all AI flight plans from the sim; EGKK loaded fine. I had a total of 167 flight plans installed. I'm probably going to trim it down a bit as well as cut some dense aircraft.txt files as I mentioned earlier ago. New question; like addon sceneries, does the sim load all AI flightplans whether or not I am in proximity to the AI? Even if the flightplans are for an airport on the other side of the globe?
  7. I mean I have a /lot/ of addons. I would think having all that AI might have an effect (most of my addons are probably AI and then lots of afcads). Would lowering the number of afcads help? Even if I don’t have a scenery installed I still have the bare afcad there in the addonscenery/scenery folder. I understand just having a scenery installed at all takes a bite out of memory. At the moment I don’t have a whole lot (relatively speaking. I think I have 12). In the past I had probably up to 40 installed (some inactive) and I didn’t experience a crash ever that often). I’m seriously thinking it may be the sheer number of AI (over a hundred plans I think, plus that Norwegian one basically had an AI for almost every individual plane in the flightplans.txt. However I tried trimming it down to just a dozen AI aircraft and this didn’t fix it previously). Lastly, I’m going to assume there’s no “5-GB patch” for 64-bit OS just like there is a 3-GB patch for 32-bit, right?
  8. Old problem, but it appears even after reinstalling FS9, EGKK gives me an "out of memory" problem still (which is BS since I'm actively looking at the task manager and says available memory is just fine and dandy for that time frame). It's likely not the sim but just this computer.... I keep seeing that error way more often. Like I can't even go to another airport without the thing crashing. EDDF is out of bounds too.... I can however confirm I was able to go to EGKK without anything 3rd party installed; nothing at all. I might have to do another reinstall if I don't wish to be individually picking in and out what files may have been affecting the sim (and constantly open and close FS9), and just do one addon at a time until a break happens eventually, Is it recommended installing FS9 outside of program files? Otherwise it almost seems like I've been banned from flying into Europe (I usually don't go there anyways but still).
  9. Yup, that’s what I’ve got; 9.1 and noCD. Although the issue is just having to avoid always running as admin since that either is a patch to a problem, or I unknowingly always was somehow running as admin without specifying. Still I appreciate your help. I may consider a system restore to relieve me of that step. The problem is clearly not FS9.
  10. Euhhh I should add I have Windows 10, but Windows XP Service Pack 2 is the default. I clicked it, I'm afraid it just asks me to run as admin again... which does work as far as running the sim, but I feel like it's an extra step I have to take when I could just double click and be on my way. It's not that big a deal, but, well it's just inconvenient. I suppose I can sweep this problem under the rug for now, but I have to wonder if anything else is affected, as far as modules go.
  11. Most of this is fluff, skip to the 1s if you want to just get to the problem as opposed to how I got to the problem, but the 2s are what ultimately caused me to force a reinstall. We always hope a reinstall of FS2004 is just that; a fresh start that would kill anything that was causing the simulator to not run as intended. It's not something someone with hundreds of mods would want to do, but it's sometimes unavoidable. But unfortunately that's not always the case, sometimes even that won't fix all our problems. I could keep venting my frustration, but I'll cut right to the chase. While trying to register my FSDT DFW, well, it just didn't. That's no longer my problem, but what I did do was repeatedly run the FSDT DFW setup, hoping it would install correctly and maybe prompt me to put the serial code or something, rather than have unreliable FS9 try to register it while running (I've installed FSDT ORD in the past without incident, though). Downloaded a lot of modules... 22222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222 Well eventually after many attempts, restarting FS9 hoping the scenery would stick, I would get the message "flight simulator was unable to load some aircraft or software. you can continue using flight simulator but....", for every single default module in the modules folder, and then would quit when it said acontain.dll was missing or damaged. Knowing I had been needing to reinstall FS9 for sometime after the issue with Gatwick, I did just that. Extra note, I uninstalled any payware addons first (FSDT, Blueprints). 11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111 Reinstalled FS9 with no incident, into my C: drive in a folder called "Flight Simulator 9" (I keep it out of program files as this was troublesome and bothersome when I first installed it). I did get a message saying there were some problems detected, but clicked "it worked correctly." It runs fine when running as administrator, but when I'm not, I get the same problem as described above; every module is missing or damaged (even with the reinstall!). The bright side is I can go to Gatwick now :D . But I would rather not have to always "run as administrator" since I'm lazy and that's an extra 2 seconds everytime I have to devote to using FS9, when I could just double click it, plus it seems like an easy solution to an underlying problem if all the modules are going to go haywire when I don't run as administrator. Any tips? Did the DFW payware potentially eff up the sim? It seems to be related to my administrator privileges and may not have anything to do with the actual sim; perhaps not running as admin makes the computer ignore the modules and calls them "missing"? I had to reinstall this a second time and upgraded to 9.1, no effect. Many thanks! Sorry I know this is a long read.
  12. This is long fixed, however here's my conclusion to recap. It's a unique issue to WOAI when editing the aircraft.txt files and recompiling that it causes AI to double. I'm not sure if simply using TTools is what causes this bug or if the act of editing makes a change. However, taking all those flightplans, aircraft, and airport text and repasting them onto a new .txt file or sharing it with another AI's traffic txt files will seem to fix this. Another weird thing I observed is the simulator started calling the US Airways traffic "American" instead of Cactus, even though the callsign in the aircraft.cfg was indeed "Cactus". You don't always see this though, since not all aircraft share the same callsign in regional AI traffic files. I don't know what fixed it; pasting the flight plans into a txt file different than the American flight plans, or changing the ui_manufacturer, ui_type data.
  13. Thank /y’all/. Its too bad this isn’t a more common problem with a proven solution. I’ve actually got all my addons in a separate directory where I download, “unbox” (unzip), and organize everything before moving to FS9. It’s annoying when addons are installers that beg to install directly to the sim. I’ll probably be reinstalling once I finish several more of my scheduled flights. Thanks! Ehhh I haven’t, I would basically disable all scenery since EGKK is uninstalled (and broke even when no addon was installed).
  14. Scratch that, autogen slider is actually at dense. Mistook it for some other metric, although it looks like that metric isn't max either (scenery complexity). Setting autogen to none still results in a crash ): Ah yes, well actually when viewing Processes I don't really see a bump or spike in any of the figures. I installed UK2000's Gatwick scenery but have since uninstalled it. It used an installer and doesn't have an uninstaller so I wonder if it dropped any other files into the sim.... As far as the FS2004 version, it's out-of-the-box (used the disc), and upgraded to 9.1 as well. I am guilty of using a certain patch.... however it was the only known solution to using the sim since there was predicament with running the original FS9.exe. Think it was using Windows 10.
  15. Still crashes. Although I loaded a different airport and there is still traffic. I think it's how AIG is programmed though; it's all set to 1% (so shouldn't it all be gone when set to 0?!). Set to maximum. I'm able to upload massive airports like ATL, DFW, ORD, etc. with no issue, also considering I have addon sceneries for those. I'll try loading default Gatwick without Norwegian traffic installed. Yep it still crashes. I've been getting that error more often, usually on really long flights (8+ hours, towards the end, but feel this may be attributed to FSRealWX also running) but it continuously occurs when going to the London area. I'm concerned this isn't the only area where I will experience this.... I feel like a reinstall might work.... but I feel like there's a better solution that directly addresses this rather than the nuclear option. I mean just now without the simulator the C: is constantly 90-100%. (I have the FS9 installed there...). Memory is at 46%, CPU is around 9%. Now C: is very low and things were clicking smoothly in FS9. Loaded EGKK without any addons, even removed the afcad file..... still no good, even zeroed out traffic. Computer seems to be running pretty good now though. Earlier ago C: was very full, now the simulator at least loads quickly. I don't know what to attribute it to though, since the sim keeps crashing at Gatwick. Servicehost:superfetch was a big culprit earlier ago (very high but now it's slowed down). And now even Frankfurt (without the Norwegian AI).... which I've flown into many times without incident (no recent changes). Ugh. Deleted the Norwegian ai entirely from the sim and it still crashes in Gatwick. I feel like the AI did something to the sim or maybe this was something already growing from before. I only see a sudden spike in C: drive performance, other than that everything else is running just fine. If it's being affected by other stuff I may just have to reinstall and hope for the best.
  16. Yup, disabled Gatwick, still no good. Actually I thought that maybe having more available parking would help the sim by not having a lot of aircraft airborne or ghosting. I experimented with and without addons. I’m considering doing one aircraft repaint at a time, or modifying the number of different aircraft in the aircraft.txt file instead of just duping AC#XXXs in the flightplans.txt file, when I get the chance.
  17. After hours of converting each and every Norwegian FAIB texture for FS9 use, although the textures seem to work fine, loading up Gatwick or even getting to close to it causes the simulator to give me an "out of memory" error. It's a huge fleet in one bgl, with over 120 different aircraft.... I tried to reuse repaints for the 737 fleet so that only about 10 were used (an underwhelming amount), basically just repeating certain AC#XXX, but even that didn't work, and boiling it down even further by only having the longhaul fleet and MAX, going even further and just using one repaint per type, that still wouldn't work. Thankfully that means the problem may not be the volume of aircraft. I figured maybe a certain texture wasn't working, but the MAX and 787 fleet work fine as seen on other airports, and the longhaul fleet doesn't include the 737NGs, and still crashed. I also attempted to put an AFCAD for EGKK to help the sim keep aircraft parked and not flying around which hurts memory. "Faulting Module Name: MFC70.dll"
  18. Found a workaround: just copied and pasted everything from my txt files onto another AI flight plan’s txt files and it worked, somehow.
  19. Hi y'all. Recently decided to add some new paint to some older flight plans (WOAI US13, don't ask why), but after finishing, I end up seeing twice as many aircraft to the point that the airport is flooded with lots of US Airways aircraft at locations they wouldn't usually be (other terminals, such as at PHX). It's not the first time I've toyed with recompiling WOAI flight plans with modifications and saw this. I also made sure I did not have the old flight plans file there anymore, so there should only be one file in the scenery/world/scenery with the flight plans loaded (one for US and one for USAX). Is there a fix to this? Makes no sense that the simulator would create an extra aircraft and flight plan for each and every individual plane in the aircraft.txt file. Thanks!!
  20. Sorry for the delay... I actually ended up just reinstalling FS9 which of course worked. I appreciate the help though as this may be the solution to future mishaps. Thanks y'all!
  21. I thought this error may have had to do with the computer's performance (it may still be that), but I did specifically pinpoint the last chain of the crash to be when zooming out on the GPS to 150nm. I also noticed FSrealWX had stopped working when the sim crashes, although the issue was replicated without it active. Crashes occur at the airports tested with or without an IFR flight plan. Oddly enough, I was able to fly 3R3-RWV yesterday just fine (old Austin Executive Airpark). Maybe I didn't zoom out all the way, by luck? (verified; still crashed. It's a short route so I likely didn't ever zoom out that far). Tried different flight plans (DFW-JAX, DFW-AUS, DFW-ORD, high-altitude routes on all). Attempted a direct route DFW-ORD, all crash. Tried same DFW-JAX route, high-altitude on the default Cessna, crash observed. Tried different origin point, AUS-ORD, still crashes. Tried SEA-ORD, no crash observed. Tried SFO-LAX, no crash observed. Tried MEM-DFW, crash observed. I'm noticing when spawning in airports in the central time-zone they crash. Tried ATL-DFW, crash observed. Ok so that didn't prove my point. Tried SAN-SEA, no crash observed. Tried DEN-PHX, no crash observed. Tried SLC-ELP, no crash observed. Pacific and Mountain time zone airport origins do not crash the simulator. Tried DTW-CLE, no crash observed. .... Tried CLE-BNA, no crash observed. Tried BNA-FLL, crash observed. Tried DAL-ORD, crash observed. Whether or not addon scenery was installed did not make a difference. Attempting DFW-JAX after having spawned in SLC for the route crashed the sim immediately upon spawning (GPS was at 200nm). So it seems certain origin airports regardless of aircraft crash the simulator when zooming out, sometimes high-altitude, sometimes direct. It cannot be precisely singled out, but it does have something to do with the simulator.
  22. If it weren't for the fact that I see this number so very often to begin with... :l
  23. Excellent! Another thanks for this 757 model. I've had to deal with winglet-less 753s for a while . Now we just need repaints.
