  1. Good model! Nice, crisp look. As is your other Chinese 757 models.
  2. Lacks a fltim.x entry but can be copied from other aircraft. Warning this texture is based off a PW model which Air China never flew.
  3. Oof. Yeah afraid so then if even Jim can't get it. I could try to tower-pack!! A few of them are bound to work! Thanks!
  4. Hahahahah, O'Scare! Not really though. I just created tower frequencies as in real life and the sim automatically assigned one to each runway. One KLAS scenery had working multiple towers (two for the two 25/7s) and a third for the 1/19s. MCO doesn't seem to work... maybe if I cram some more? Yeah I wish that was better explained. I tried asking on fsdeveloper but it didn't get much attention. THanks yal
  5. Hi y'all, Was wondering why sometimes extra tower frequencies at an airport however listed are not active? I annoyingly noticed at MCO when the same tower was speaking to both the West and East side on a pretty busy day. Same with LAX. I checked with ADE to see if the frequencies are properly labeled (airport name, no frequency outside the 118-135ish range) with the same going on. This wasn't a problem with the O'Hare scenery I created sometime ago. (I would float in slew mode and I would notice the frequencies to contact would change as I move North to South). Thanks!
  6. Decided to disassemble it, managed to replace the old slider pot with a new one from an old joystick (whose joystick axis were bad). Tips for anyone doing a similar job: Getting the gears to mesh back to the way they were before was as bit hard. I advise looking at the calibration screen while on FS9 and observing how to set the slider and pot screw when attaching (slider all the way back should be rougly aligned with the pot gear indicating full deflection (red to blue visible) in the calibration screen). Then once that's screwed in, unplug and replug the joystick USB and calibrate. It should show a full-range deflection (if you don't do this you might not see a full-range of the throttle available). Lastly make sure you check assignments and sensitivities as they may change (I had to set sensitivity back to full on the slider, and had to uncheck the "reverse" box on assignments). Otherwise your slider may not input to the sim correctly.
  7. Yeah that's kinda what I've been doing recently; just using the keys. It's just not as easy when I've been good at just micromanaging the slider and immediately going to a certain power setting as opposed to trying to bracket myself there with the keys. Debating whether to a. fix the joystick pots. b. buy a new joystick c. buy a throttle quadrant. d. I deal with it... pretty undesirable. I used my old joystick for just the throttle but it's very bulky to have two joysticks on the keyboard, and then there are some issues I ran into in a few days with assignments... I think disconnecting either joystick resets a lot of stuff... ugh. Thanks though, I'll decide on something.
  8. Noice I got it registered. Doesn't really seem to make a difference... argh the slider was fine just the other day! Why can't it just go back to normal... Editing null zones does dampen the erratic behavior, but not all the way, and it also limits max throttle to about 80% in with the slider.
  9. Yup that's the one. Guess I don't have a choice. New one is $50, throttle quadrant is $80. That or I learn to get used to using F1 through F4. Familiar with FSUIPC helping out? I've heard it can smooth out issues like that. Don't know if keys for FS9 are still purchaseable; also it's $24.
  10. Hi y'all, Seem to be having a monthly issue with FS9 (yup, still with FS9). Throttle slider on the Logitech joystick is wiggling a bit and occasionally violently jumps several dozen N1. Tried playing with the sensitivities, but it seems like decreasing sensitivity reduces how much throttle you can ever get. Null zone doesn't dampen out those tiny vibrations either. Tried disconnecting and blowing on the thing too but no use. It's definitely the joystick, as setting it to a certain throttle setting and then disconnecting it doesn't twitch the power at all. It just settles there perfectly. Thoughts? Time for a new joystick?
  11. Just to clarify the aircraft isn't taking off like most aircraft do when they are exit from slew and go airborne (if slew is exit from an altitude other than the ground) . It settles onto the ground nicely but just the throttle goes up by a few hundred RPMs. Ok I have no idea what happened but the problem seems to have gone away on it's own and I can now yaw in slew mode again. Here's what I did that may have resulted in this: Reset sensitivities (even though throttle axis is not one of them) Changed the location of the USBs (the problem returns when I insert the USBs back to their original position). Not sure why that may have been an issue in the first place. Everything seems to be working fine now. Odd this was not a problem before, however.
  12. I always do this with the aircraft lower-elevation key. Didn't work when pressing F1. Calibrating it and now apparently needing to unplug and plug in are required to get the thing to stop advancing. The throttle axis is not something I can adjust the sensitivity of, nor the null zone. I've only got roll, pitch, and yaw. Also it seems I fixed my slew-yaw with the joystick problem I had before, ahahah.
  13. Hi again y'all, back for my monthly gripe This one's a simple but annoying one. Any airplane I exit slew (whether or not I actually move around with the slew or push any key) advances the throttle forward once I exit. It's fixed by calibrating the joystick (Logitech one), but that's an annoying thing to have to do every time I start the sim. I thought it might have had something to do with another controller like a PS4 controller connected, but that doesn't seem to be the case as it's off and disconnected. This is a new problem. I don't know what's causing it. It might be the PS4 controller being installed at all but it's been installed for sometime and I'd rather not touch that (my brother's the main user). Thanks!
  14. Ehh I'm fine without the trigger brake. Pedal brakes are much more useful. I just really don't like the pedals starting to affect functions that I've had since I've started to use the sim several years ago. Especially the bloody slew yaw. I could've sworn it was working before. Might consider reinstalling FS2004.... ugh.
  15. Hmm unfortunately the twist axis null zone isn't available. Another thing I'm noticing is sometimes I'm having to use a lot more power just to taxi something like a Posky 757 than I normally do. Like the brakes are still on (even though it says they aren't). It was really obvious with one flight, although trying to repeat it.... I can't tell very much, but it feels unusual that I don't have to constantly brake the aircraft to slow it down when idle-taxiing, which... I guess is kinda good, but fools broken. I did another test run with the 757. Was ok, feels a tad weird. The first time I noticed it (yesterday) I was taxiing with half power. I haven't had anything like that recently. Regarding sensitivites, I'll have "advance" selected, hit ok, then come back and the pedals are back at "simple".... am I resetting the sensitivity option somehow? I thought I had it fixed yesterday but the problem came back (the problem with needing a lot of power for taxi).
  16. Hmm yeah I attempted that. Even then the pedals don't slew the aircraft. They're working fine, as far as the pedals and the twist go: they're recognized by the sim when in the assignments menu. When I finally decide to use the command in play, I get nothing. I want to say the sim is getting commands from both inputs (even just inputs of zero) so in the end it just cancels them both out. However, I disconnected the pedals and I still don't get any yaw in slew out of them (verified the yaw axis is re-assigned to the twist). I can still yaw the aircraft in-flight, but slew yaw is dead. I re-calibrated it too. The x and y axis are fine. Not sure why the sim is treating the z axis any different.
  17. Thought I may get more insight here. I've run into a lot of problems ever since I got the Saitek pedals. Some have been fixed/patched, others remain a mystery. Maybe I could get help with a few. 1. Using the pedals with the Logitech joystick does not funny things. The brakes are unusable with the trigger now (I since just deleted the trigger brake assignment). I've come to sort of get used to it... 2. Not sure how new this is, but when in the slew mode, I can no longer rotate the aircraft about the vertical axis, not with the twist-axis on the joystick, and not with the pedals when I do assign yaw with the pedals. I don't think the sim likes having inputs from two different sources, even if they aren't in use simultaneously. Even deleting inputs from one device altogether doesn't seem to do it. I've toyed with sensitivities/null zones to sort of fix the rest of issues. Annoying patch work. Mostly that last problem is pretty frustrating... any ideas how I can get yaw back without having to start using a keyboard key? I don't want to accept mediocrity controls and getting used to stuff like this. Thanks
  18. Hi y'all. Recently (finally) purchased and received the Logitech saitek rudder pedals, and also finally managed to get the differential brakes to work properly (has to be set on "reverse" for some reason). However now I can't get the toe brake to work which is much stronger than the differential brakes for stopping. Still using the logitech joystick, I still have the brakes to be used by the trigger on there and tried all three "repeat" functions but to no avail. I also removed the brake assignment on the rudder pedals (not sure what that would do). The trigger works when disabling the parking brake, but never actually works again. I can now only "release" brakes. Also on a weird side note, when pressing the differential brakes, it still says "brake" after releasing (no braking action observed, however. Might be minimal). Many thanks from this red badger!
  19. I was playing around with the FS2004 in-game flightplanner... sometimes when I double click/click on a random point in space, I'll actually manage to winch the route and drag it onto a particular waypoint. This is best when trying to pick hard to find waypoints for the route and then not having to go find the red line to drag, only to lose sight of the waypoint. Anyone actively familiar with how to do it? This and clicking waypoints one time to add to the route (if the line is close enough) seem to be inconsistent. That or how far zoomed in/out appear to have an effect on it. Otherwise I'm looking to use simbrief...
  20. So, Recently was working on a flight plan from Seattle to Narita. Was about to finish when I made some ... unexpected, unexplainable mouse drag/click combination which did something to the simulator, and it crashed. Not really feeling like doing it again (but I will end up doing so anyways), is there a program that creates a .pln file where I could just enter the points (assuming it knows which points do and don't exist in the FS2004 database)?
  21. Yeah, it's reliable 70% of the time. Not quite enough for a guy like me! I know it's free but there's certain necessities that have to be met, and that's going to be loading the dang weather right! (especially when the weather itself is already downloaded correctly). Loading it in the first place (as opposed to having the fair weather sit there idle) is also a must. If you choose to use FSGRW, let us know how it goes!
  22. Neither fix is applicable or works out. This is also audible with the SGA DC9. Annoying because the aircraft isn't even moving and yet "aircraft is rolling" sounds are playing >:l . They cannot be muted with "sound off", and can be heard in the flight planner menu as well..... wow. If I could delete the stupid sounds from the sim that'd be great and acceptable, but even removing the culprits.... they still appear to be coming from somewhere else. I could try just completely deleting all the sounds (or rather moving them elsewhere) and see if consolidating would work, but I have my doubts. I think it's from some panel I may have downloaded; it probably introduced something into my sim, but even then, the sound.wav files under scrutiny are actually default FS9 sounds.
  23. Still supported? I've heard of Rex but could've sworn it was no longer supporting FS9. This one looks great, just not sure if I want to commit /that/ much.
  24. Most of us should be aware by now that FS9's weather engine is no longer supported. I've been using FSrealWX lite for a while, however it has some very, very annoying quirks and just doesn't cut it for me sometimes (overcast is paper thin, winds aloft can be off by as much as a full 180 sometimes, and not 20 knot winds, but 100 knot winds... guess that's why I'm here. It nullifies any attempt to have accurate fuel planning if the stupid thing is going to give me completely wrong winds). What options would y'all look at? Is FSrealWX pro any better? FSmetar? I'd certainly consider a payware if it's not too much ($20-$25). There's FSGlobalWeather (I think that's what it's called), but it appears to be 39 euros... yikes.
  25. Sorry for the lack of response (I guess it's my funeral so who cares right!). I've narrowed it down to the Spada panel.... I tried the SGA MD80 with the 717 panel I have, it works fine with no sounds "bleeding" into other views or when in FS9 settings. The sounds I'm hearing are either cnroll1 or usroll1 (or any of those). I'll start to hear them on takeoff, and they're audible in different windows, even though they're "interior sounds". They of course, go away after some time once airborne and no longer rolling. I tried removing fssound.dll but it didn't do much.
