  1. The joystick is seen as a USB joystick. The X-Y-Z axis work OK, throttle works OK buttons 1-4 work OK. BUT the Hat button and buttons 5-8 don't work. This in on a win10 PC and FSX. I've tried compatible options (Win 7 etc) no success. Tried to install the V3 drivers but they would not run. Any ideas????
  2. The Sidewinder FF version is definitely AC powered! The base says "100-240V, 2A"
  3. Sounds like the SideWinder gets to live for another day!! Have you tried it with MSFS2020???? It would be nice to have a definitive "Sticky" on the Sidewinder operating with MSFS2020. Ken
  4. OK! You've convinced me..... I've just ordered a copy of MSFS2020, should be here soon. Now I have to look at the Aircraft conversion process to bring my favourite Piper Warrior over to MSFS2020. (Yes, I see JF have a payware version ...but more $$$$)
  5. Tim, You make a convincing argument to invest in MSFS!!! (Another issue: I can't seem to get imported airfields FSX to show in Free Flight selection. They are definitely saved correctly in the Scenery Library but don't show in the selection of airfields.)
  6. Gordon, I only fly in Victoria. If I go with the Orbx it's $45 if I upgrade to MSFS it's $119. There are very few free addon aircraft for MSFS at the moment.
  7. I've converted a few of my favourite aircraft to FSX. I only fly around the local (Victoria) area VFR and I'm finding the quality of the scenery and smaller airport coverage very average (!!!). The available options are to upgrade to MSFS with what I believe gives quality scenery coverage of Australia, or invest more in FSX by purchasing Orbx Australia V2 scenery. There are limited aircraft available in MSFS, but I'm sure that will change in the future, whereas FSX already has all the aircraft I could ever ask for. Has anyone compared the quality of the MSFS vs Orbx scenery?
  8. Australian Simulation now (2022) seem to be out of business.
  9. In FSX while sitting for takeoff with a taildragger, you can use the W key to reduce the main instrument panel to a series of six gauges positioned along the bottom of the screen. Looking at the panel.cfg I can't find a "panel" window in which I can edit the gauges. (In one of the models I can find a "Window06 MINIPANEL" but this doesn't appear consistent across the models) Is there a default which presents the MINIPANEL? Appreciate your help. Ken
