  1. Have family from Grand Rapids, to Jenison to Holland. That's true- (real world) just flew KFSD to KORD to KCLT on Friday- FAA increased separations due to lightning. Delays all over! Seriously heavy rains the past 2 weeks. Once again- proving it's best to be above the clouds!
  2. Touche! I did of course neglect to include my computer specs. I'm running smoke signals and Morse code via Neolithic cave drawings. Haven't seen this before and Chicago is a regular arrival/destination.
  3. Been tooling around from the Metro in Detroit to KORD with a QUICK 727! Cruise just past Grand Rapids Michigan Elevated houses amazed at such an approach... Final Approach Touchdown Perhance, anyone know if it's memory or conflict with the raised houses?? Thanks!
  4. Those on the Maid of the Mist, are probably still flattered on the deck!!!
  5. Rick, Weakness? Nay! Passion! That Buffalo is spot on gorgeous! Excellent thread.
  6. Love it! Especially the Kuusamo landing shot with the facilities behind the sharp C-47! Good show!
  7. Great jaunt! Always enjoyed KDEN the times it was actually clear skies. Even then the wind could grab you stretching out after the Rockies! Good flight sir!
  8. Nifty flight! Enjoyed each shot. Might have to emulate your endeavor albeit not as well as you showed.
  9. Very very good shots- Awesome Aircraft as well.

  12. Refreshing photos. Looks great!
  13. Thanks all. I've a penchant for unusual FAX flights. Matches up nicely with a loco cockpit.... :D
  14. While the ebbs of the season, there is the inevitable change in airline schedules. I was fortunate enough to be paid to make a 737 transfer from Heathrow to Birmingham for a package company and learned a few things. I'm fine with DHL being chummy with World Travel Airlines, but goodness- did they not check their work out of the paint booth??? I thought the separation was FINE! And to be told so bluntly, there was no coupon for buy one landing get one free........ Well well, then I was brought in for tea, no bloody biscuits. See if I do contract work with them again! Bollocks! :pilot:

  16. Back in the day, I believe the P-61 and the Twin Mustang had a faceoff and the Twins won. On another topic, per Wikipedia, some serious achievement..... Record-setting P-82B-NA 44-65168 "Betty Jo" taking off from Hickam Field, Hawaii, 27 February 1947. On 27 February 1947, P-82B 44-65168, named Betty Jo and flown by Colonel Robert E. Thacker, made history when it flew nonstop from Hawaii to New York without refueling, a distance of 8,129 km (5,051 mi) in 14 hr 32 min. It averaged 347.5 miles per hour (559.2 km/h). This flight tested the P-82's range. The aircraft carried a full internal fuel tank of 576 US gallons (2,180 l; 480 imp gal), augmented by four 310 US gal (1,173 l; 258 imp gal) tanks for a total of 1,816 US gal (6,874 l; 1,512 imp gal). Also, Colonel Thacker forgot to drop three of his external tanks when their fuel was expended, landing with them in New York.[4] It remains the longest nonstop flight ever made by a propeller-driven fighter, and the fastest such a distance has ever been covered in a piston-engined aircraft (the record for the longest unrefueled flight by a propeller-driven aircraft of any type is held by the Rutan Voyager). The aircraft chosen was an earlier "B" model powered by Rolls-Royce Merlin engines (see "Survivors" below).
  17. These are just classic- good homage to MSFS with Meigs field. Another raising of the pegs for the Peer.....
