1. Hi, Don't know if this helps, this is the way my Orbx scenery is layered in FSX, pretty much the same in FSX-SE as well, this is the way Orbx Central loaded it, I haven't changed any of the priorities, and it all seems to work fine, apart from the odd airport elevation issue, which I can resolve. I do have some other Orbx scenery to load, but I always use Central to install it and just let it put it where it wants. I haven't loaded Orbx vector to FSX yet, I have it in Steam, but the jury is still out as to whether I like the effect of it that much! Hope this may help Cheers Richard Intel Core i7-4770K CPU Overclocked @ 4.60 GHz (Hyperthreading off) Cooler Master Liquid Cooling System 120 AIO 16 GB G-Skill DDR3 PC3-12800 (800 MHz) Nvidia GeForce GTX1050Ti 4 GB Graphics Card GDDR53x 500GB WD Blue 3D SSD SATA III Creative Sound Z Ultra High-Performance Sound Card 5.1Ch 24BitAvermedia HD-C985 Live video capture card CH Yoke and Rudder Deepcool Tesseract Mid Tower PC Case NZXT Grid+ V2 Fan Controller + 3 case fans Windows10 64 Professional FS9 - FSX -FSX-SE Track Hat
2. Hi, I had the same problem with EGHA, a small GA airfield in Dorset, tried the Orbx vector tool, but it made no difference. As I did a lot of RWF at Compton Abbas, I really wanted to get it sorted, it was spoiling what is a really accurate representation of this beautiful little airfield, so I had a dig around in all the relevant scenery folders that I could find for EGHA and found in the "world/scenery folder" a file called '000_EGHA_FTX_Exclude_ALT.BGL', so I moved it out the folder, and bingo, the apron is now displaying as it should, and I have never put it back, but have kept it safely in its own folder, just in case! I have used EGHA regularly over the last 2 years, and moving the BGL does not seem to have had any detrimental affect, the rest of the scenery is absolutely fine, no error messages or crashes, so far;), it just seems to have worked for me. I don't know whether the KSEA scenery folder has a BGL like that in it, but if it has, it may be worth just taking it out of the folder to see what happens, and if does all go horribly wrong, you can always re-install it. cheers Intel Core i7-4770K CPU Overclocked @ 4.60 GHz (Hyperthreading off) Cooler Master Liquid Cooling System 120 AIO 16 GB G-Skill DDR3 PC3-12800 (800 MHz) Nvidia GeForce GTX1050Ti 4 GB Graphics Card GDDR53x 500GB WD Blue 3D SSD SATA III Creative Sound Z Ultra High-Performance Sound Card 5.1Ch 24BitAvermedia HD-C985 Live video capture card CH Yoke and Rudder Deepcool Tesseract Mid Tower PC Case NZXT Grid+ V2 Fan Controller + 3 case fans Windows10 64 Professional FS9 - FSX -FSX-SE Track Hat

4. Hi Vomaka, Looks like it might be a permissions problem, I found a similar problem regarding trying to install other programmes "Error 1310.Error writing to file: Verify that you have access to that directory." "The cause for this error is the fact that the required files or location is already in use by some other software. This means that Windows finds that the user is trying to overwrite a software that is already installed. It could also occur if the program installer does not have access to write to that directory." If you previously had FSX installed on your boot drive, there may be some registry entries leftover, and this is known to cause issues when trying to re-install FSX. The following link may be of use if that is the case, http://c-aviation.net/clean-reinstall-of-fsx/ Good luck and stay safe. 5. Hi I regularly resize and optimise textures, I have a great PDF guide for resizing and optimising textures, I don't see a way to add a PDF to posts:confused:, so if you PM me, I could e-mail it to you, it is very useful and easy to follow, cheers Intel Core i7-4770K CPU Overclocked @ 4.60 GHz (Hyperthreading off) Cooler Master Liquid Cooling System 120 AIO 16 GB G-Skill DDR3 PC3-12800 (800 MHz) Nvidia GeForce GTX1050Ti 4 GB Graphics Card GDDR5 3x 500GB Western Digital Blue 3D SSD SATA III Creative Sound Blaster Z Ultra High-Performance Sound Card 5.1Ch 24Bit Avermedia HD-C985 Live video capture card Deepcool Tesseract Mid Tower PC Case NZXT Grid+ V2 Fan Controller + 3 case fans W10 64 Professional FS9 - FSX - FSX-SE CH Yoke and Rudder Pedals Track Hat
6. Hiya I have checked my WOAI installer, and as you say it is greyed out, but on mine, I can still click the arrow and it will give me the option as you can see in the screenshots below to choose FS9 or FSX. You should also be able to go for a manual install as in the last piccy. If you are struggling to find you FS installs, you can use the Flight 1 registry repair tool, its at the following link, 4th entry down, might be worth a try, I am on W10 64 bit, don't know if it makes a difference https://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library Cheers
7. Hi, If you get fed up with Windows 10 intrusions and automation, then have a look at the "Group Policy Editor" that is already installed on W10, except the home edition, for that you will need to download "Policy Plus". Take a look at this page, I have been using GPEDIT for years, and once you get used to it, I find it simple to customise and turn on or off a lot the annoying, intrusive nonsense that comes with all windows installs. https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/policy_plus.html cheers
8. Hi Binou, When you restart FS9, does it tell you it is compiling a new scenery CFG and if so, can you see your scenery in the scenery library, there is a issue with W10, in that when you are adding new scenery, you have to left click in the empty space below the folder location, it is a bit hit and miss, I find that I sometimes have to try it a few times before it loads, a least that is how it is for me. Have a look at the screenshots below, I am going to add a US 38M mesh As you can see it's not in the library at the moment This is the folder I will add You can see that the folder is not shown in the directory box If you right click in this area, you should see the folder added to the directory box below, and it will just add the scenery and revert back to scenery library screen, as I said it is a bit hit and miss. As you can see it has gone straight back to the scenery library screen and added the scenery at the top, I will move it down later, you can also see the standard warning you get whenever you make a change to the scenry folder Finished!!! I use Windows 10 64 bit, and it has always worked for me, but it does sometimes take a few goes to get it to work:confused:, Microsoft magic I reckon;) it's just how it works for me. hope this might help cheers Richard
9. Hi, I am not sure what to say, it may be some registry entries left behind that are causing a problem, I have been using Revo Uninstaller for years to remove programmes, it is a free programme and is available at the following link, and I have never had a problem with it, and it also has some great tools for keeping your system clean. I am using an older version of W10 than you, and it works fine, just make sure you use the advanced uninstall option and remove any registry entries and leftover files, folders etc, it is safe https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo-uninstaller-free-download/ I have included some screenshots of the manual regarding the install location when you first open TG Global, are you seeing any of these when you run the app? and if so have you tried to manually locate your FSX exe path. Also, as I am sure you know, it's a good idea not to install the programme in Programmes (x86) folder, hope this helps Richard
10. Hi Matthew, It might be worth trying the Flight1 registry repair tool to locate your FSX installation, you can find it at the following page, and it is easy to use, also could you let us know which version of windows you are using, sometimes the UAC can cause problems, it's got harder to bypass as windows has evolved, http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library let us know how you get on Richard
11. Hi Cjet123, Just want to check a few things, Did you download and install the latest version of Traffic Global, that is version TrafficGlobal_EarlyAccess_1.1.1.2.exe. The version number is displayed in the lower left hand corner of the main Traffic Global screen. If you open up your Traffic Global programme, do you see the FSX and FSX-SE boxes checked as in the first image below Do you also see the AI fleet as in the second image below Did you compile the flight plans as the manual explains, and if so, have you found the TG_GA_AI.bgl in C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\scenery\World\scenery I worry that if you cannot see any or all of the above, you may need to re-install the programme, given the other replies, I can't think what else to do:confused: As I have said, I run Windows 10 64 bit, and have never had any problems with FS9, FSX or FSX-SE or any add ons, I run ORBX, Active Sky 2016, Rex Soft Clouds, Radar Contact, Traffic Global and a whole host of payware and freeware aircraft and scenery, some of which is networked from another PC, and never had a problem that wasn't operator induced:rolleyes: hope this helps Richard
12. Hi llivaudais Ref what you explained with the new folder for AI, I had never thought of that, it is so simple, I gave it go, and it works fine, and as you say it saves cluttering up the aircraft folder, many thanks for that info, every day is a learning day I guess;) many thanks Richard
13. Hi, I had the same problem after installing Traffic Global, I generated the flight plan and tested, net result no traffic:mad:. I checked that there was a flight plan in,\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\scenery\World\scenery and found it was there as TG_GA_AI.bgl, but still no traffic in traffic viewer. I checked the install and it is all in the correct place, but having read the docs again, it states that the AI traffic fleet will be installed in the following location, C:\Users\yourname\Documents\TrafficGlobal\TrafficGlobalFleet so that it will be available for any other sims installed on your PC :( So instead of mucking around trying to get it to work, I just took the easy route and copied the AI fleet to C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes and it now works fine, I know its not correct, but it works for me;) I am using Windows 10 64bit, don't know whether that makes a difference cheers
14. Hi Wim I tried changing the path as you posted above, but still no joy, and to be honest I am not that bothered if it doesn't work in FSX boxed, I only use this to test things that I am going to use in FSX-Steam, so although it would have been good if it had worked, it works fine in Steam, so no sleep lost there, but thanks to all who replied, much appreciated, Happy New year to you all, Richard
15. Hi Pat, Thanks for the info, I found the SDK on the FSX disc, didn't realise it was on there, so installed that and gave it a go, still no joy:( So I then downloaded the P3D SDK from the link you provided, installed that, and guess what, still no joy, although when I did start FSX, it did ask me to confirm I wanted to load and trust the traffic tools module, but it still didn't bloody load it:confused: I can load FSX-SE and I have the "TOOLS" tab in the menu bar across the top, open that up and there are the traffic tools. I load FSX and no "TOOLS" tab, nothing, nada, zilch, wtf:mad: Both are installed OUT of the x86 folder as usual, so I just can't see why it won't load it. This is the FSX dll, that wont load:, note that all the other active items load correctly - Launch dll.xml False False - ObjectFlow_EGTH.dll False False C:\Users\Richard\Desktop\FSX\ORBX\FTX_EU\FTX_AA_EGTH\Scenery\ObjectFlow_EGTH.dll - ObjectFlow_EGHP.dll False False C:\Users\Richard\Desktop\FSX\ORBX\FTX_EU\FTX_AA_EGHP\Scenery\ObjectFlow_EGHP.dll - ObjectFlow.dll False False C:\Users\Richard\Desktop\FSX\ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAA_ORBXLIBS\Scenery\ObjectFlow.dll - ObjectFlow_EGHA.dll False False C:\Users\Richard\Desktop\FSX\ORBX\FTX_EU\FTX_AA_EGHA\Scenery\ObjectFlow_EGHA.dll - Object Placement Tool True False ..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll - Traffic Toolbox False False C:\P3DSDK\Environment SDK\Traffic Toolbox SDK\TrafficToolbox.dll - Visual Effects Tool True False ..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll - CMeteoXml False .\CMeteoXml.dll - CMeteoXml False .\CMeteoXml.dll - FS Recorder False False C:\Users\Richard\Desktop\FSX\FSRecorder_FSX.dll - FSUIPC 4 False Modules\FSUIPC4.dll This is the FSX-SE dll that does load - Launch dll.xml False False - ObjectFlow.dll False False C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\ORBX\FTX_AU\FTXAA_ORBXLIBS\Scenery\ObjectFlow.dll - Object Placement Tool True False ..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Mission Creation Kit\object_placement.dll - Traffic Toolbox False False C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll - Visual Effects Tool True False ..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Special Effects SDK\visualfxtool.dll - FSUIPC 4 False Modules\FSUIPC4.dll /SimBase.Document> I just can't see the reason it won't load it, very annoying, but I guess it will turn out to be operator error as usual, cheers Richard
16. Hi Pat, The path is correct, all I did was copied the, "Traffic Tool Box" folder and put it in the main FSX folder, I didn' bother with the environment folder so the path is C:\Users\Richard\Desktop\FSX\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll and that is intentional, but as you pointed out, it is the wrong SDK:(, so taint ever gonna work:D, I will have to see if I can find the correct SDK, it didn't install with my box FSX Many thanks for the help, Richard
17. Hi Guys, Thanks for the replies, and well spotted on the folder paths, but I have taken the Traffic toolbox out of the SDK/Environment folder, so the path is correct and matches exactly, as I only have the Traffic toolbox folder with the dll.xml and other bits in installed in the main FSX folder, so I guess you maybe right in saying that it needs the correct SDK for FSX, that I don't have:( As for installing FS on the desktop, I have been doing it for years and it seems to work fine, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the shorter you can make the path to your FS, the quicker it can load, hence the scenery folders on the desktop also, but thanks for the replies cheers Richard
18. Hi Looking for some help with Traffic toolbox. I have installed the traffic SDK in FSX-SE, and it works absolutely fine I have installed the SDK in FSX, and it doesn't work!!! They are both installed on the same PC running W10, (without any problems) and these are the relevant paths in the dll.xml file, in the relevant app data folders FSX-SE Traffic Toolbox False False C:\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Environment Kit\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll works fine:) FSX Traffic Toolbox False False C:\Users\Richard\Desktop\FSX\Traffic Toolbox SDK\traffictoolbox.dll No workie:mad: I have copied the traffic toolbox from steam and put in the FSX folder, so I can't work out why it's declining to work!!, any ideas what I am doing wrong? Happy Xmas to all you wonderful simmers, wherever you are, and have a great new year, Cheers from a very wet and windy Devon, Richard
19. Hi, I use paid for Avast Internet Security, very low footprint and I am very happy with it on Windows 10, cheers
20. Hi, I have the Carenado 152 and have got the blank texture files :), so if you PM me, I can e-mail them to you, the folder is only 4mb or so should be fine, if not I can e-mail each texture sheet, there are only 4 sheets, cheers Richard
21. Hi Looking on Dave Maltby's web site, there are 2 panels, and if you don't have the one Mr Zippy has the screenshot for which is, Accurate 1-11 panel. 'Standard fit' that covers all marks except the 510ED. Includes manual. I assume you must have this one: Accurate 1-11 510ED panel. The 510ED was the original 'Super one-eleven' as specified by BEA. The panel was significantly different to all other marks of 1-11 and was intended to be more in common with the BEA Trident. The 510ED fleet served on with British Airways until the early 1990s. I have these fantastic aircraft, and with the 'standard fit' panel autopilot, you don't preselect an altitude, you click the "Alt Hold" switch when the altitude alerter confirms your at your selected altitude, and if you use the 510ED panel, there is a height select switch with which you pre-select your target altitude, it is worth looking on DM's website, and these AC are not that easy to fly, you really do need to read the manual;) Try this link:http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/html/1-11/Manual_AP.htm Hope this helps
22. Hi Just a quick question, what is the location of your Flight Simulator Files folder, mine is at the following location, C:\Users\Richard\Documents\Flight Simulator Files, I believe it is essential that it is in this location, and I can't believe that FS9 would of installed anywhere else, but it would be worth double checking I guess, Just my 10 pence worth:) Good luck
23. Hi Take a look at the info in these links, I follow them every time, and I very seldom get any problems, http://www.simforums.com/forums/the-fsx-computer-system-the-bible-by-nickn_topic46211.html http://www.simforums.com/forums/nv-inspector-fsx-fsxse-windows-7-8-10-updated_topic59954.html Although it mainly applies to W7, I have followed them on my W10 setups and they still seem to be relevant, definitely worth look I reckon ;) cheers
24. Hi Steve All my machines run W10, with no problems whatsoever, as long as you follow the usual install caveats that apply to any modern Windows OS, and have decent computer specs, then you should be fine. I run FS9, FSX and FSXSE, no problems, and personally for me, I think W10 is the best, most stable windows OS that I have ever used, personally I love it, I do however run most programmes in "administrator mode", not sure whether this makes a difference, but it certainly hasn't made it any worse:D cheers
