  1. Give us some example numbers then please.

As far as I'm concerned, if the aircraft shows in balance on the loadout screen then it is in balance and shouldn't porpoise and hunt like it does. And if the issue does lie there, then it's still up to Asobo to sort out the W/B input so it does flag an unbalanced config. It's hardly user error if the game doesn't provide correct information.

  2. Sounds like the Op might have the file looping issue?

What does the total % show on the download bar. Watch the files downloading and see if they go back to 0%. What was your download speed previously set to in the sim options? Anything less than unlimited is likely to cause issues.

You may have to use the Net Limiter method and cap the FS20 d/l speed at 500 KB/s to get the patch to complete.

  3. In a similar thread someone suggested disabling Windows/Xbox Gamebar might help. I'm about to try and see if that helps with my loading issue, though I don't really see the connection other than GB using a small amount of system resources.

Edit: Nope, that didn't work, well I was able to select the flt file and hit load but after about 5 secs, CTD.

  4. I had an issue with the game crashing instantly to desktop when trying to load a saved flight. However I was able to start a couple of flights yesterday without any issue. FS20 is, shall we say, a fickle beast - what works one day doesn't the next even when, to your knowledge, nothing has changed with your hardware and software environment. Then you fire it up a day or two later and it all works again...

One thing the OP might check is if you have any outstanding content updates to download. these don't automatically come to the top of the list in your content manager.

  5. If it's the Steam version I have a feeling this might not work.

I just brought up FS20 in Apps & Features and the only options are Modify, which is greyed out, or Uninstall. There is no Advanced Options link.

This leaves the ghastly option which many of us went through with the 1.8.30 debacle when we had to verify the Steam cache which then triggered a complete re-download of the whole programme.

  6. Maybe we should stick to Trainz Vern, there are bugs there, just not as many ;-)

    Geoff

I was having great fun in Elite Dangerous last night Geoff, continuing my galactic circumnavigation.

Although I did try and start a flight in FS20 with a different aircraft, see what happened if I tried saving and loading that but the game froze up on me just after takeoff so that quickly got abandoned!

For bug free train simming I tend to head either for Open Rails, or the tried and trusted routes in the DTG TS (not TSW).

  7. Well... bearing in mind the Gamebar is currently the primary means of taking screenshots or in game video, you would have thought there would have been some testing at Asobo to ensure the two don't conflict.

And coincidentally, without Gamebar active I just went to load a saved flight for a second attempt at an approach into Cape Town (hit a mountain in the dark last night), pressed load and selected the file - instant CTD. Which I've never had before at that part of the game. Could be a corrupt save - about to try again - or just about anything.

Nope, same again. Okay off to play Elite Dangerous or ETS2 for a bit, try FS later.

  8. I have the 0.4.0 installed and the A320 is working as well as it, well ever does.

Without teaching granny about eggs, the FD must be switched on for the AP and AT to work and that is particularly key when loading a saved flight and everything is off. I am well into a 4 hour flight from Nairobi to Cape Town and the AP and AT are functioning as they should, it even kept my fllghtplan in the FMC for two loaded games now (probably won't be so lucky in a minute...).

As regards starting the engines, well you don't really have to go through the entire checklist - batteries, APU, fuel pumps, ignition on (which works for me) then put the engine switches in. Or just Ctrl-E it as a last resort. :)
