  1. Agree with all especially the autoland.
  2. I do . That said, AI in both FS2020 and X-Plane is useful for screenshots but otherwise FUBAR. If I had to pick one thing that needs vast improvement (other than a realistic depiction of convective weather) it would be the AI. Are you listening devs
  3. Thanks, Phrog. X-Plane AI is responsible for the off-centerline landing
  4. Some shots of a B747SP, a stubby, shorter version of the original 747. Only a few of these were ever built. The airplane is on approach and landing at LAX. These shots are a good example of the graphics and scenery in X-Plane 12. Not quite as photo-real as MSFS2020 but pretty darn good. Been spending a bunch more time in X-Plane since there are more legacy early jet airliner models available. Hoping that 2020 (or when FS2024 shows up) devs will start reaching back for more of these non-glass classic models. Passing LA Center City On the approach to Runway 25L Touchdown and taxi off the active past the iconic LAX dome. To the ramp.
  5. Thanks, Phrog - yep - 8-10 hours.
  6. The setting sun lights up a Navy P3C from the VP-8 "Tigers" before the moon steps in to take over.
  7. Some shots of a Silver Airways ATR-42 on the short flight from Tampa (KTPA) over to Orlando (KMCO). On the climb out. Downtown Tampa is visible in the distance. Level at cruise altitude with Silver's eye-catching pink flamingo logo. Starting our descent over the lake country of Central Florida. About to go below this broken cumulus layer. On the approach to Runway 36R with the sun trying to break through the clouds. Be ready to buy one of those expensive theme park rain ponchos! Rollout and taxi off the active as a Spirit Airlines B737 touches down in the background. Welcome to Orlando!
  8. Thanks, Phrog - I've never had the occasion to fly on a Metro but did once on a Beech 1900 with a similar seating arrangement. USAir Express as I recall - Boston to Portland Maine.
  9. Some shots of an American Eagle Metro III on the short flight from Bar Harbor (KBHB) to Augusta State Airport (KAUG) in Maine. A note on the airplane. This is an original X-Plane 11.5 model but works fine in the latest X-Plane 12.6 version. Freeware but Payware quality. Ready for boarding on the ramp in Bar Harbor. The leaves are starting to turn here in Maine. Ready for takeoff Climb out and cruise for our short 105-mile segment. Approach and landing on Runway 17 at KAUG Taxi to the Terminal. Welcome to Augusta! Topping off with fuel for our next segment Augusta to Boston Logan (KBOS).
  10. A few more shots of some aircraft and liveries from "Back in the Day." United "Friend Ship" and Delta "Widget" B737-200s American and United B720s TWA B747-200 PSA "Catch Our Smile" and Pan Am "Clipper" B727-200s Zantop cargo airline L188F freighter over Miami Opa Locka Executive Airport (KOPF) and on the cargo ramp at Zantop's Willow Run Airport (KYIP) HQ. Piedmont Nissan YS-11
  11. Thanks, Phrog - "We thought they'd never end ......" BTW - Turns out Amazon's got everything - here's your T-28
  12. Back to the future with some random 60's and 70's legacy airliners! Gone but not forgotten. B707/720s B727-100/200
  13. A Lockheed P3C landing at Jacksonville Naval Air Station (KNIP) in Florida.
  14. Some shots of a FEDEX B727-200F on the crowded cargo ramp at Memphis International (KMEM). These are some good examples of the graphics in X-Plane 12. [click on the image for a full-screen view]
  15. Thanks, Frog - nice shot. I think we'd need a T-28 for the Lex.
  16. A Navy T6A "Texan II" takes off from Pensacola Naval Air Station (KNPA) on an early morning training flight in these X-Plane 12 shots. [Click on the images for a full-screen view]
  17. Thanks Phrog. I'd like to see some of the older legacy large airliners like B707s and DC-8s show up in MSFS.
  18. Departure and arrival shots for a USAF E-3 "Sentry" AWACS on a flight from Joint Base Lewis-McChord (KTCM) near Seattle, Washington up to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richarson (PAED) outside Anchorage, Alaska. Taxi out past C-17s on the line. Lineup, takeoff, and climb out into overcast skies. Above the clouds making a climbing left 180-degree turn to on course with Mount Rainier in the background. Turning on the approach for PAED runway 16. The Approach Plate from Navigraph Charts shows the RW approach. On the approach. PAED reported RW weather 300 scattered, 1600 broken, 4000 overcast, rain and mist, wind calm. Short final, rollout, taxi off the active. Welcome to Alaska!
  19. Phrog & JK - thanks for the good words. Michael - The F4 refuel experience sounds awesome.
  20. The rising sun silhouettes a USAF KC-135 tanker over the lake district of Central Florida on approach to Orlando (KMCO).
