Sorry i don't really understand the question. If MSFS looked like FS9, why would i use MSFS? I just think that MSFS is the future. I will still use FS9 but in terms of realism and graphics it will not compare anymore.

It is a great sim Mark, but it shows it age. I still love it and have hundreds upon hundreds of addons for it. There is no denying though that the future of PC flight simulation lies in MSFS for the foreseeable future. screenshots and you tube videos are great but there is something to be said for seeing it on your own machine.

I have FS9 installed always will. Never could get FSX to run properly. Spent a fortune on addons for it. Bought the Premium Deluxe MSFS. AS you can see my computer is not that great. Runs MSFS at 25 to 35 FPS. The volumetric clouds passing in front of your user aircraft and the ground shadows are exceptional. Yes, aircraft leave a bit to be desired, but give it time, it will improve. My 2 cents.

Hi, as a new user of MSFS i wanted to find the community folder. I use WIN 11 and i could not find it anywhere. on my pc it is located at C:\Users\Name\AppData\Roaming\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages\Community. Hope this may help someone else. Regards, David

Jersey has AES support, but not Guernsey - I think because Guernsey doesn't have jetways?

Hi, any pilots have UK2000 EGJB. I could have sworn it had AES. There is no mention of it having it on the uk website or on the AES airport page. Have i lost my mind, just checking.

just updated to Win 11, no issues, FS9 started right up, also aismooth, aiseparation, and FSRealWX all working with no issues. that's all I've tried so far.

 

Did you get the update through Windows update, or some other method. Like to update but it hasn't been available to me yet through Windows update. I could download from Windows site, it says there it is better to wait for it to appear in my updates.

It was EXACTLY that - a Nvidia driver update !!!!!!!

A day back Nvidia updated to driver 471 - i have now rolled it back to 466 and all works fine again

I shall be raising this issue with Nvidia

A new one on me here. New install of FSDT KLAS and added the Terminal 3 upgrade. All is well until i activate AES for the Airport and then all the jetways turn blank grey. They all work fine with AES, just blank grey. Any ideas.

 

With much fiddling with AES and backup copies, all is well with textured jetways at KLAS. Thanks to those who might have pondered the situation. Cheers

make a copy of FS9 folder??? thats alot of to make a copy of... i have 600 plus sceneries thats alot of GB's of space i still trting to get ahold of FSDT ..either send me a new key of a fully functional version .. i spent good money on that

 

Mines 268 GB didn't take more than a couple hours to copy. Over 520 scenery addons.. Good luck trying to get any help from FSDT, they said bye, bye a long time ago.

Hi, just wanted too add that i had the exact same problem. There are two different addon managers for those products. My solution was to make a copy of my fs9 folder, and rename it to fs9 off or whatever you want. Then installed the problem airport in the new folder , this results in a differen addon manager. Then i cliucked on my key file and added it to the registry. When i fired up fs9 the problem airport was in the addon manager but my other fsdt Airports showed as inactive. Going back to my original install all fsdt airports except the problem one were active. So long story short when i want to use the problem airport i use that folder, when i want the other airports active i use the original. Convoluted yes,but works for me. Regards, David

Hi, yes it will be fine.

Also a 2D guy, though most of my flight time is spent in spot view. Love to watch the landing gear, flaps, reverse thrust etc. Most of all though i think the scenery overall is great. Is there a wrong answer, i don't think so. Blue skies everyone, and Happy New Year.

That's really a bad idea. There are a host of problems and risks you take doing this. Anyhow, I can only warn, tried a million times now over using compatibility modes and running as admin. It's your PC.

Hi, when i had the computer upgraded i was made administrator, i run everything as admin. Some Airports and such reccomend you do.

I would like to add my opion here. Upgraded my pc new mobo etc. Followed the advice of zswobbie1 and after a few interesting glitches i am up and running swimmingly. All addons ASE, GE Pro, AI Smooth, etc,etc. All my aircraft, can't speak for all as i don't have all the ones listed. My Capt. Sim C-130 works a charm. Shout out to all members who have assisted over the many years. You are GREAT. You know who you are. Thanks everyone, and keep the blue sky up. Cheers
