I find this very interesting. I have had zero luck with FSX-SE. With Orbx scenery and default planes using Orbx recommended settings i barely get 20 fps at Ganges Aerodome. Yet I run MSFS Premium Deluxe at over 70 fps. God knows what i would get with my FS9. I run it locked at 45fps. Still my sim of choice. I like it because  i don't need to be a seasoned pilot to fly any aircraft. I just get in and away i go , anywhere anytime any aircraft. Live long FS9 gonna be 20 this year.

In fact as the years have gone by 9 had got better and better.

It now does what I've always wanted a sim to, more than anything else I wanted Fs9 (or any sim)to run smoothly.

Nothing could (for me anyway )brake the spell  a good flight more than juddering and stuttering whilst banking left or right.
In fact I used to look away from my monitor until the aircraft resumed level flight.
Maybe I am easily pleased, but I still love Fs9 and when taking of last night into a beautiful pink hued morning I still think it's a great mixture of technical expertise to fly and particularly land well,It's also for me a of work of art to.

Finally I am not someone who has any sort of downer on FS2020 as long as we have Sims of all sorts being developed we still have a great hobby to participate in.

If I ever got round to Fs2020 and it took as long to master and run like old Fs9 I suspect by that time I will be heading or actually in the great departure lounge in the sky flying Harp airlines on board a beautiful summer  cumulus drifting away through eternity .

Could not have said it better myself.

I use AI smooth and have the same thing. Doesn't work unless run as administrator. No biggie for me still works.

As well as First Class member is there any chance of having signatures added. Thanks

I installed FS9 on my brand new system no problems. Had to re-install a few payware things ASE etc. Followed Wobbies guide worked a charm. Don't think ypu will have any problems. Cheers

I am 14yo, deeply addicted to playing flight simulators. Problem is, i have low-end pc... My specs are: (Taken from windows system tab, if unclear ask further more in comments)

Intel® Celeron® CPU G3900T @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz

4GB Ram

 

FSX has on my computer one problem. It keeps crashing almost always after i takeoff, no matter where. I heard that fsx is low specs so i left the settings tab on high and it runs pretty smooth-(30-60 fps). If anybody has any fixes or, any tips, please write it down in the comments. FSX is the only Flight Simulator i can have to enjoy flight simulators, because i can not run almost any flight simulator.

 

Hi, My advice would be too save up your money and try and get a better computer. FSX is very resource hungry. Maybe not the advice you were hoping for. Best of luck.

Haha, well, not the thread for a proper response. I don't know what Microsoft are thinking sometimes when they create operating systems. I swear they must drink at work.

You can get the Steam Version. Very reasonable.

The scenery will work fine, as visual scenery, but there'll be no underlying runways, taxiways etc. for ai aircraft to follow, so you'll need to find/make an AFCAD (or whatever the modern preferred term is) for FS9.

UK2000 used to provide EGPF for FS9, but they're no longer supporting that sim.

EGPF is also included in Playsims Scotland South photographic scenery … you'll need to look for a s/h copy if you want that.

Hi John, yes the link does work but the download is for a different scenery, not the Aerosoft 2008 LPPT. thank you for the reply though.

I recently found Aerosoft LPPT 2008 version and it runs on my system. I also found some links to a freeware scenery that adds the terminal 1 and 2. However the links lead nowhere. Taking a chance that someone may have this addon and can upload it or contact me. Not sure if it would be legal to upload it, attempts to contact the author bring no response. Thanks, this is the link provided by the author http://www.airsim.net/projectos-nacionais/. it is also supposed to be in the freeware scenery list under Portugal but not there either.

Nice shots, the bottom one is very cool.

I'm finding there is quite a few options. trying to find what looks best is a little tedious, at least i can change settings on the go. That's a nice feature.
