  1. No, it's not flooded right where I am, it's about ten miles away. Waters are going down now...
  2. Nice! I play tenor now as well...
  3. Still on Airwolf... I really liked how the photorealistic panel for the front came out. I was really pleased with the way it looked, but now I just have to make all the gauges work! And the slightly less standard backseat panel. That's more fun - I can just let my imagination go! We've also just re-done our website:http://www.captainjohnfsx.net We post updates and screenshots there as we go. End shameless plug.
  4. Hi thindog,

Ah, I never mind hanging out with people who loop Airbus'. I just have to remember to disengage the flight computers first... ;-)

As it happens, I know a couple of South African's who live nearby!

  5. So, having now taken on responsibility for Scenery and Gauges+other stuff with Airwolf, I hope you like what your seeing. You can see updates of what we're up to in the Screen Shot forum or on the website:http://www.captainjohnfsx.net Yes, I am just plugging here. It's a very time consuming process, but the results are very rewarding and look promising. We are trying to create the ultimate Airwolf addon, so it won't be released until it's all right. You might be in for a wait... We're getting there! Keep watching!
  6. Trouble with doing this as CRT is that the pixels would get bigger as the angle got steeper, so you'd need to compensate for this somehow.
  7. So, I'm now on board the Archangel productions team( Hi John!) with the Airwolf project. Only doing the website up, mind you, as you may have noticed in my updated signature. Or not. If you had, that's either er,er very observant or er, er, you have too much time on your hands.:)
  8. Unfortunately, for some people, the line between being rude and having heated discussion is quite thin...
  9. Haven't posted here for a while... ages actually. I've been fairly absent from the site since the summer, and I haven't really done much flying or development. I will get that SE5a released... one day.:D I might even get around to finishing the series of aircraft design articles I promised the flightsim team last year... The expedition with the photographic scenery went well, by the way. Not that you really care, probably.
  10. This weekend, I'm off on a bit of an expedition. Now, it's on several fells in the Lake District( for my overseas readers, you'd probably call it a couple of small hills, but for us in the UK it's a big thing!) So, I thought, so I don't get lost, why don't I fly the route beforehand on FSX with my newly acquired photographic scenery? Would it be detailed enough? It was. I could fly the whole route in the Ultralight. Now, all I have to do is not get lost on Saturday and Sunday!
  11. Well, I don't know about E for fourteen minutes, but...:D
  12. You've probably heard the term 'Well, it's close enough for jazz.' Whether you were actually playing jazz (and what jazz is) at the time is a matter for another day, but when is it close enough for jazz? As you may know, I play the Sax. Recently, I was playing a twelve bar blues with some others, and one we had finished( quite difficult with no drummer!) the bassist said to me "Next time, can you stick in the same key for all of it, please?" Now, I wasn't offended by this, but it stuck me that, it had sounded quite good to me, and surely that is the point of music? And surely it was "Close enough for jazz?" Of course, I might have slipped a few buff notes in here and there, but I don't think our audience will have noticed this in our rather impromptu performance. And I'm sure we all did. But it sounded good, and if it sounds good, I don't complain. It was close enough for jazz. By the way, we eventually screeched to a stop after about 20 repetitions by everyone trying to nod at each other at once. Quite amusing, and wasn't exactly a clean stop!
  13. Good God! It's Professor Mike, is it now?:D As bad as that discussion on lift there was a couple of months ago. skylab raises a good point, though!:)
  14. xxmikexx asked me about the sailing I did last week. Well, when I say I was sailing all last week, I don't actually mean I was on a boat 24/7.:D I just went sailing every day. I sailed various dingies - Pico, Laser 1, RS Feva. If you've never heard of these, don't worry.;) You may have seen the Laser at the Olympics, which Ben Ainslie of the UK won! I'll see if I can get some photos, I think there might be one.
  15. Yes, I have played games on the computer. After all, I am on a Flight Sim website.:D Seriously, I have played combat games on the PC. Yes, it's harder, but possibly less fun.
  16. I'm sure you've heard of the worldwide craze which is the Nintendo Wii. You may also know that it has a game called 'Heatseeker' available, which is a military flightsim. Weeell, I'm now on level 2.5, and I'm noticing some significant problems with the game - 1: Numbers. You and your wingman are based on an aircraft carrier called the Nemesis. Not a problem, except you appear to be the only two on the ship. And of course, the kill counts are ridiculous compared. I killed over 50 aircraft in level 2.4. 2: Weapons - on the same level I apparently fired 200 odd ARAAM's! And they don't appear to be very accurate for 'Heatseekers'. Ever heard of radar homing? Good thing I can fire the cannons( with an unlimited amount of ammo - you need it!) Having said that - it's a lot of fun. Makes a change from FSX! (As an aside, in the manual it lists the aircraft you can unlock, with pics. Except one - Top Secret Black Project thingy - which just has a silhouette. Now come on guys, I bet even Joe Public can recognise the shape of Blackbird?:D)
  17. If you listen loud he’ll hurt your fears. If you listen live, he'll rock your ears. If you want it good, you'll have some beers. If you rock it good he'll have you in tears. As they say, It's getting better all the time...
  18. It sounds odd, an Aussie Frightning. But, then again, you never know. Stranger things have happened at sea.:) But then, that would be the Navy.
  19. If you listen loud he’ll hurt your ears If you listen live, he'll rock your ears. If you want it good you'll need your ears If you rock it good he'll sock your ears. Not so sure about the sock, though. Any ideas?
  20. Well, I've been a bit busy this week, been sailing all week. Talk about tired, but fun. So no flying or development work. Hope to have some more news about these things in a couple of days.
  21. Yeah! I play sax! That has a, a, jaunty feel to it. Cool. Heard as I walk away: Cos I'm the Saxman, yeah, I'm the Saxman. Cos I'm the Saxman, yeah, I'm the Saxman. Now what where the rest of the words? EDIT: For replacement line: If you listen live - he'll rock your ears. Ahh, no, double use of ears. Errr.
