  1. I do check the arrival airport freqs just to be sure when I start my descent. It does happen that they are different for the ILS in FSX than is shown in an add on, which will be more recent. Just go to Maps and click the arrival and the freqs will be displayed. It is very disconcerting when shooting an approach in IMC and the ILS doesn't work.
  2. I'm curious as to why you are running both GEX and Orbx? They do the same thing. Could there be a conflict in there?
  3. Yes, I agree completely.. I looked at both of them and decided not for me. Next I'll look at PMDG T7. Thanks Rick
  4. Thanks Mallcott and Dogdish. I went ahead and purchased the Level-D as I had a deep discount since I owned the FS2004 version. I just don't think I can go back there after PMDG and other modern cockpits. So I'll take a look at CaptSim. I don't know any other sources, right? Thanks Rick
  5. Hello all: I am in the market for an extended range 767 cargo aircraft. It appears that the choices are: 1. Level D 767 2. Captain Sim 767 I am looking for any advice you can provide. I know the Level D is/was a good product in the day, but it is almost 10 years old and I wonder if the graphics is up to date with today's standard. The Captain Sim product is newer but I have no idea on the quality of the graphics and systems modeling. I would be grateful for any input you would care to provide. Thanks in advance, Rick
  6. Hi all: Closure! Thank you for your help everybody! The D finally rolled over on this and provided me a download update. I am very happy and have no complaints with the D. I don't see any reason to mention their name but is anyone has a need to know then please send me a private note and I'll let you know. Thanks again, Rick
  7. Nothing has been said either way in my case but the developer is dragging their feet in providing an update to the boxed which I purchased earlier.
  8. Hi all: As we all know some addons come both in boxed version and in download versions, although this approach seems to be fading in favor of only downloads. Nonetheless, when I purchase a boxed version of an add on today and the developer continues to improve and fix the baseline for sale of future versions, should I expect to receive a no cost downloaded update for the installed box version? It seems that if the download original purchasers receive free updates, why shouldn't the boxed purchasers? Thank you, Rick
  9. Thanks to everyone for your help. Paul's information allowed me to understand what was happening. So I followed the instructions from FireFox and as Paul warned, it may take a long time for the repair. After waiting over night with no resolution, I tried installing the latest FireFox and, voila, all is fixed. Blockers back on the job. I also plan to consider Edge and the blockers mentioned by CRJ. Thanks again, Rick
  10. Thank you for your response. May I ask which browser you went to? Thanks
  11. Hi All: Firefox has told me they will no longer play with AdBlock, which I have used for years on my laptop with Win 10. I'm being assaulted with pop up ads, which I mercifully avoided for all that time. I would appreciate your ideas on where I go from here for an AdBlocker, or do I need to go to another browser? Thanks in advance, Rick
  12. ORBX has a following, but there are plenty of payware and freeware sceneries available to supplement FSX or FSX + GEX + UTX, which is what I run. I have about 500 add on sceneries in North America, Caribbean, and Europe. Plenty of places to go, things to see, people to meet :)
  13. Very nice scenery. One issue though is that the original default terminal remains and almost covers this senery terminal. Could there be a conflict with UTX or GSX?
  14. Great airport with one exception. The taxiways and tarmac show up as grassy areas in my system. Anyone have an idea as to why? Thanks Rick
  15. This looks like a nice scenry but I downloaded and installed the files but it apparently does not work for FSX. The terminal does not appear. The author states that he was unsure whether it would work for FSX. It does not.
  16. Ditto. I get some of the building with what looks like no textures. Default better.
  17. Very nice scenery. A beautiful area to operate from or visit. Only question on the scenery is that on my system the passenger terminal looks like a plain gray box and does not resemble the actual building, although the FBO next door looks right. Is there a problem with my system or is the terminal not captured? Thanks.
  18. I love this thread. My personal enjoyment of FSing derives from several areas: 1. I enjoy fiddling with the rig and FS tweaks to improve the experience, although this does get a bit tedious. 2. I "own" a virtual "charter company" and fly bizjets and a Boeing bizjet all over the western hemisphere. I make numerous flights to small airports in the West Indies during the Fall and Winter, and numerous flights into small airports in the NE US and Canada. Right now I am in the middle of a EU swing with stops in London, Dublin, Helsinki, Brussels and now down into Egypt where I overflew the pyramids (couldn't find the sphinx), and the Aswan dam, which was a disappointment. On the way back to the US I'll stop in France and Dublin as the jumping off spot. Very interesting and fun. I google earth all the fields I'll be stopping at to see how realistic FS is. For instance the great pyramids were spot on lat/long. This is truly a great hobby.
