I think I answered my own question. The picture in the aircraft selection window does not match the airplane when flying.

I have the deluxe edition which has the Icon A5 included. However, my Icon A5 is not a float plane. Instead it appears to be a light sport aircraft whth a full landing gear. Any ideas on what happened to my float plane?

I can find them when flight planning but how do you find them during flight?

Steve, Thanks. I found the cause. The eclipse has a 3 position switch which is used to change modes when used when programming the controller. The center position selects the cockpit camera. When flying in external camera mode, any movement of the x or y axis triggers the cockpit camera. The solution was to turn the switch one notch to the left which selects the external mode and it will stay there. Lots of learning to do.

I'm using a CH Eclipse Yoke. When flying with the external view pulling back to go up or turning to the right cancels the external mode and goes back to the cockpit camera. Annoying when sight seeing. Before giving up on the yoke, I'm wondering if anyone has experience the same. Any thoughts?

I am making progress. Tonight I finally got the autopilot to turn on without crashing the Cessna Skyhawk (the one with steam gauges). However, once activated the plane started to porpoise getting worse with time. I canceled the autopilot but could not recover the plane and finally cancelled the flight. Is there some problem with the autopilot or am I just missing something here? Thanks.

Dogdish, Thanks. I think I'll use the USB ports on the front of the case to do just that. I'll keep the pedals connected to the rear ports and switch out the other controllers as needed.

Can you leave a yoke and stick plugged in and just use the one you want appropriate to the aircraft?

I know you can set them up but can you use two at the same time? How would you choose two controllers when setting up a flight?

I would like to use my Ch Eclipse Yoke and the CH pedals for controls. Since they are separate usb connections, how can I combine them into a single conrtoller?

Found the solution: got to go into content manager and download the remaining parts of the sim. All is well now.

Why do no bush trips show up when I click on challenges? I have landings but the bush trip icon is grayed out. Thanks

When it resumed what was the indication on the screen. All I ever saw was the message "CHECKING FOR UPDATES". I'm thinking I may have stopped the download myself. But, when I tried again I definitely got a "error".

If you choose to download to the default location, where does it go? Thinking of creating a new folder on my 1tb ssd to hold the new sim. Opinions please!

Is there a download manager in the sim? I would hate to be in a 1gb download, encounter a glitch, and have to start over. On my first attempt it glitched due to a bad piece of memory (I think). When I tried to start the sim, I got a message "CHECKING FOR UPDATES". After waiting an hour I just canceled. Finally uninstalled and I was never able to restart the download because it errored out every time. Finally reinstalled Win10 and haven't tried to download again. Once I get the new memory I'll try again and see what happens. I read somewhere that someone had a download that lasted 3 days. How do you know the system is still downloading since the indicator would be moving so slow? Your comments are always appreciated.

I tried all suggestions as well as everything else I could find on line and You Tube. Nothing worked. Since the computer is new there is little to lose so I reloaded windows to clear everything out. Tomorrow I'll try again.

Still no joy here. I installed to the default location(s). Can anyone tell me where to look for the files and where the downloads were stored?

Steve, Thanks for the reply. I built this thing and turned it on today to download msfs. Yes, the initial part downloaded fine and upon starting the simulator began to download it began to download the core program. Somewhere in that process it faulted and stopped. I was unable to restart the download. Afterwards I did find a bad memory stick and resumed working with the 16mb that tested good. Finally, after reading many posts and on-line sites, I uninstalled msfs to start over. Unfortunately, no matter what i've tried, it wont load past 1004.4 mb. The windows version is 2004 with all updates. Any and all help is appreciated.

New computer with Win 10 pro. Installed and started msfs which then started the big download. I turned my back and the installation stopped. I tried every thing I could think of and eventually uninstalled msfs. Now when I try to reinstall it hangs every time at 1004.4 mb. Restarting and trying again does no good. All help is appreciated. Ignore my signature. This is an AMD Ryzen 7 3800X with a Radeon 5700 XT display adapter.

If I purchase and install on my present, less than powerful, computer to try and then get a more capable computer can I download to the new computer without incurring additional charges?
