  1. Hi there. Question to all you out there who use the CH Products Flight Sim Yoke.

Are any of you having any problems having the Auto Pilot hold the flight plan?

I usually handle all the start up, taxi, take off, initial climb to cruising altitude and then switch on Auto. It will hold it for a few mins but then the next thing I know is Im in a right hand turn (always). The Auto never disengages and I have to swing it back on course. Left alone it will eventually start a spiraling turn down and impact.

Thought it might be my addon's so I took them out. Still happened. Unplugged the Yoke and Rudders and then went back to my 18 year old Sidewinder 2 FFB joystick and it didnt happen. Gradually added back in the addons with Sidewinder still active, no issues. This morning I added the rudder pedals with Sidewinder and no issues. Took out the rudder pedals and sidewinder and used the Yoke and same right turn and slam into the ground.

Ive cleaned the Yoke and it "feels" like its centered both horizontally and vertically axis wise. When taxiing on the ground it doesnt wander off course, stays straight and true.

Just wondering if any of you are experiencing the same thing. Granted these CH Products are 10+ years old so it might be times for a new set up but the MS Sidewinder FFB is still going strong.

    Thoughts and thanks!!!

  2. What strikes me about the "good old days" is the nature of the community vs 15-20 years ago. We still have a few of the perpetually disgruntled, (I remember several discussions on this forum with a fellow who thought FS2000 was the ruination of the simulation genre, and that it would never succeed like FS98).

The big difference I see, is the absence of the 35-45 generation currently. When I got started in the hobby, there were many active young designers and artists and creators. I had three or four mentors maybe 10 years my senior, but still under 60. Now it seems almost the entire community is either 70+ or 16-19. In the latter group, the interest appears temporal, just awaiting the next bombastic explosion riddled phenomena. My son's mid 40s generation seems totally absent? Maybe it is the dearth of PCs and the preponderance of tablets and phones, but that group seems completely uninterested? To me, that is a bit disheartening! I can learn to enjoy what ever AP or graphical innovation that comes along, But I have no ability to nurture a whole generation oblivious to this hobby, or simulation in general. I don't have an answer, and that is really perplexing!

Late 40's guy here. Have loved all version of the sim. I miss the old AP ways but am enjoying figuring out the nuances of the ones in the newest version. Now if Asobo would just stop breaking them when they put out patches/updates.

  3. Most of the problems seem to be people trying to run it on a 5 year old laptop, or they have a slow internet connection and corrupt the download, or they want to load it on a HD instead of an SSD, or they don't want to learn the new product operations, or they never even try it, just watched some review by a twerp on a video. Since many folks run it successfully, it must be failure of the users or their equipment instead of an intrinsic flaw.

Brand new computer here on my end. Built it for the sim. Runs great averaging 40+ FPS in all environments on High Setting (no 4k monitor, so not bothering with Ultra).

Thanks for the info Kapitan on the center fuel tank.

  4. Any of you had a similar situation?

Rolling down runway 9 at KSAN and lost the #1 engine at 120kts. Stopped aircraft before slamming into the parking garage (actually on the runway). Couldnt get it started again.

Reset the sim and started over and took off ok, but about 100nm out of KPHX, I lost the #1 MFD. No big deal, just threw the FO out the window and flew on from the right seat.

Today, I was flying in the King Air out of KPHX and lost all the screens on the MFD. Nothing worked.

I know I didnt have realism systems failures set up before the patch and am wondering if something is buggy about it.

Seems really odd that that would happen on 2 different days in 2 different aircraft.

  5. Ya, agreed. The area for Disney is rather old. Hollywood Studios still has the Sorcerer's Hat and there are no over water villas at the Polynesian Resort.

Question for you all though. I have my settings on High and am getting really great frames. I could kick up to ultra but Im not using a 4k monitor so why bother. Anyways, when i was flying in the DC area, on approach into KDCA, I was passing the Washington Monument and noticed that it was just a tall rectangle. I know the DC mayor wants that and the Jefferson Memorial removed but..... Oh and the Capitol Building wasnt there as well. Anyone else having these errors??

  6. I can find theC:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\ Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\ folder but I cannot find the addon one to add stuff.

I was able to add the megalivery to the aircraft and that was easy to add to the "community' folder (well, except for the 747s that had the lettering backwards on the the right hand fuselage).

I was trying to add the F18 and then the KNZY scenery but no luck on either of those. Any help out there??

  7. I had the same problem. The switches for the A320 autopilot are dual. if you hover over it and move the cursor ever so much, you will see it says engage managed or engage selected. I believe the managed one is the one set in the FMC, if you use the engaged selected, that is what you dialed in and it will be set. (or something like that). Honest i had the same issues but I started doing it with the selected one and things worked just fine.
  8. Lovin the new Sim but it has some bugs in it.

98% of the flight completed from KMCO-KDFW with sids/stars. Great weather, clouds, other traffic. Flying the A320 in American colors. Approach into DFW and that's when the fun starts, lots of traffic. Turning the long final for 17C KDFW and then goes to desktop. 2 hours and no landing. All my work ruined.

I hate it when this happens.

  9. Hiya Elwood. I was just like you. Wanted a good machine that would run it with no problems. I got one from Micro Center that I built myself. Here are my specs.

    I7-9700 3.6ghz

z390 E Rog Strix Gaming Intel 1151 ATX Motherboard

Geforce RTX 2070 Super XC Ultra Gaming Overclocked Dual Fan 8GM GDDR6

    Ripjaws V 32gb (2x16gb) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16

H510 Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower

Focus Plus 650 Watt 80 Plus Gold Power Supply

    1TB SSD 3d NAND M.2 2280 PCIe NVME 3.0 x4 Internal

ICUE H100I RGB Pro XT 240mm Water Cooling Kit

    Microsoft Windows 10 64

Drive out price was just under 2,000.00 with TT&L. Very happy with it.

I loaded Flight Sim up on the first day and everything was pegged to High. I dont have 4k monitor so Im not really worried about Ultra High Settings. Getting great FPS and am loving it. Now if i can just get the damn AutoThrottle to stop engaging on the A320 NEO, things would be just grand!!

    Good luck

  10. i have got the Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe Game for 3 days now!

Force 3D Pro: IN SETTINGS IT IS ALL OKÉ !!! ROLL/Pitch/yaw and trottle work here

    BUT:

STILL CAN'T GET JOYSTICK WORKING """"ïn Game """"

In my Windows 10 / 64 bit EVERYthing is working oké in Configuration/Apparatus!

BUT after starting ( several) planes : NOTHING !!!!! NO pitch/ NO roll/ No Yaw/ NO Trottle!

WHY DID I BOUGHT IT!!??!?!?????? Microsoft Flight Simulator: Premium Deluxe

why couldn't i wait for at least one year until ( some) of the bugs are out. Because this SUCKS!!!! THIS NOT AN ALPHA GAME AT ALL!!!!

I had some serious problems at first and was in your shoes. I was pissed. I have the MS Sidewinder 2 Force feedback and I had to figure out how to map the controls/buttons. It was a PITA for sure but it took some time to get it. Slow down and go back to the options and try again. It may take a couple of tries to get it right.

  11. Yes, I agree with that statement and you can extend that to any self respecting Rel World pilot.

Over the years I probably recommended FSX and other sims to hundreds of new and existing pilots. This one I will never recommend to anyone, if anything stay away, we all seem to be treated like some pipsqueaks that are stealing money from the parents wallets.

Really! Split the 172 and try to get another $10.00 for an acft, one of the 3 that are actually of any real use in the release. Everything thing else is just fantasy for wannabes. Horrible idea, they just want to make it look like there are some different versions, which they are not.

Just treating people like idiots, I assume they are used to the shoot them up crowd. I hope they come to their senses and start treating us like real people.

First they abuse people by using them a free labor, which I am sure is in the thousands of hours, and then they stick yo them again. You want something useful? Just give me another $10.00 because I am smart and you are and idiot, easy money.

Just grow up set up a price and I will decide if I want it. Get some decent distribution, stop trying to force people into giving up their privacy, stop treating people like 2 year olds, and be honest with people.

From what I've seen so far it does not look like we are missing much.

A promise that was not kept (for Real World pilots), yea, which, A320, 747... miserable distribution trying to maintain total and complete control and force you to give up your privacy for a miserable game. No thank you.

    Grandpa Simpson, is that you???

  12. Mine was VERY cool about it. She actually told me to go buy a new PC since my old one died about 3 years ago. I was still running FS9 and had it all tweaked out with tons of payware A/C and FS Passengers. Gave me a budget of $2000.00 and said have at it. Took my college son with me to Micro Center and built a gaming rig for $1999.23.

Her logic was that I have 2 hobbies. Golf and Flight Sim and haven't been able to do the simming stuff for a number of years. We both work for the airlines and she creates the schedules a month in advance for crews to fly. She created pairings for me to fly.
