sterion70
Hi all, been a member for a while and drawn a lot of interesting facts from the forum, but my first post on here. Using FSX on an external drive; G:\Global Scenery\ fsx root directory\fsx\fsx.exe I am now getting this is an invalid path. Can anyone see why this is now occurring,as i have been using this without problems till now? many thanks Brad :( PS the drive is sata and runs in 3.0 usb with heavy duty connection cable. mrzippy
I saw a recent post that stated a Microsoft update cause a drive letter to be changed on a simmers computer. Might be the same for you. I'll see if I can find a link to that post. https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?293894-Hard-disc-Letter-change-automatically Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer! il88pp
I hadn't heard about an update, but possibly: You plugged in external drive -- becomes drive G for example. install scenery on it. tell fsx the scenery is on G. You unplug the drive, plug in a usb-stick stick becomes G plug in external drive. external drive now becomes drive H Fsx looks for scenery on G, isn't there. To 'fix': unplug drive and stick. plug in only drive. drive is G again. Fsx finds scenery. Better fix: Install scenery on a fixed drive. Not an external one.
