pcohen
Hi Everbody, looking for a file that I cannot find. I used to have a File where you could have Smoke/Vapour Trails for your aircraft. Was able to set the Altitude at which Smoke/Vapour Trails started but unfortunately cannot no longer find this File. Any help with this Please. Windows 10 2020. mrzippy
Try this download from the File Library and see if it helps with your contrails. longer_contrails_fsx_fs9.zip Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!

mrzippy
Mr. Zippo: Pretty sure he's looking for engine smoke/vapor trails off wings effects According to this line in the OP's first post..."Was able to set the Altitude at which Smoke/Vapour Trails started"... Sorta point towards contrails. Yes, I know the setting in the aircraft.cfg is actually setting the temperature at which contrails appear, not altitude. pcohen
Hi everybody, thanks for replies. I have installed this Contrails folder as per instructions Gauges, effects etc. etc. But nothing is happening, no matter what Altitude I'm flying at. Any suggestions please. Windows 10 2020. mrzippy
Under [General Engine Data] in your aircraft.cfg have you entered a line similar to this? max_contrail_temperature = 0 //Temperature (deg C) below which contrails may appear This should make contrails appear at any altitude that the temperature is 0 degrees © You never mentioned which aircraft you are flying. The Aircraft I am using is an Airbus A340 600 in British Airways Livery ( though BA never had any A340's ) A repaint done for me a long while ago. I also hve it in BOAC and Pan Am livery. I am using the Ultimate Boeing panel Version 2 with the WAAS GPS Gauge. This has been a favourite of mine for Many years and the Aircraft I use the Most. Windows 10 2020. gwillmot
Have you considered these? They're amazing... Noticed they claim: "No FPS Impact!". I have bought similar ContrailsPro which will eat your frame rate lunch. How about this product? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Men In Black
How about this product? Haven't noticed any (if at all) perceptible drop. Fluffy, 3D, very looky...about as realistic as contrails can get in FS2004. When I was looking for a contrail replacement I did stumble upon ContrailsPro but quickly rejected it, as those are not 3D and they look nowhere near as good as Suppression. If memory serves me right, I think I even read some complaints about the FPS drop with those, but I I'm not sure bow dat dow.
