Here are some shots of a Cessna 172 on a sunrise takeoff from San Diego climbing through today's real world foggy and overcast weather.

A Southwest B737 taking off on Runway 27 shows the low lying sea fog over the airport. Typical for early morning weather at KSAN.

Our Garmin G1000Nxi equipped Cessna 172 lined up for takeoff on our short flight up the California coast to Burbank (KBUR).

Climbing into the goo.

Three thousand feet later we're treated to one of aviation's classic and most beautiful views - skimming the cloud tops as we break out of a solid undercast into clear blue sky.

Level "on top" with the rising sun behind us. A tip of the Captain's Hat to anyone who can ID the famous registration number I've put on this airplane (no cheating and Googling please!!) :D
